I've spoken to 123-reg. On their standard shared hosting plans which were purchased prior to 30/03/2015, the max_execution_time is set to 30seconds, and they refuse to change it on the basis it could cause other users on the same server to have problems. They have advised me that the new packages bought since this date have the max_execution_time value set to 120s. I'm in the process of getting my hosting moved over to the newer platform and will report back what happens. Unfortunately it's not the 300 seconds as recommended by PrestaShop here.

This is set to 30. I attempted to change this to 60 using php.ini, but it didn't accept the new value. I've read somewhere that 123-reg do not allow you to edit this. Is this critical to this failure?

Has anybody been able to solve this yet? I'm attempting a fresh install and I keep getting stuck on 23%. I have tried using the default language and timezone settings and I have tried changing them to English (UK) as well. My host is 123-reg. I have created php.ini within root directory and changed the following: max_file_uploads = 100 memory_limit = 128M safe_mode = Off upload_max_filesize = 128M mysql.connect_timeout = 300 I have confirmed these settings changed by creating a php info file. No success there. Any other ideas?
