Hi all, any assistance appreciated to someone who is quite technically challenged. Recently I have been receiving 500 internal server error messages (tags not loading when attempting to create new product listings) I have read a few posts and everyone appears to suggest enabling Debug Mode to find where the issue is. Unfortunately the button 'Debug Mode' is missing; I only have 'disable non Prestashop modules' and 'disable all overrides'. My original developer who installed all of this is unfortunately no longer contactable, and I often struggle with freelancers. Any guidance appreciated as I am unable to create new products. I recently had an Indian freelancer do some adjustments to a theme so this may be the initial cause of the error message, but thought I would ask here to be able to offer him some guidance, as I think he also is a little lost! I am using Prestashop 1.6.1.4 multistore mode. It has also been suggested that I upgrade to 1.7 but am concerned about all the additional cost of having to buy new modules, and the development work, and also messing around with something that could result in my e-commerce sites going down for a period of time. Hi I currently have a developer looking at some issues regarding seo of my website and needs an answer to a ssl issue question. Can someone from Prestashop please confirm......... " ask if the SSL toggle in the back end of the CMS was fixed? i.e. so that when toggling the SSL to off and then on again, there are no issues." Hi, unfortunately not found any solution yet. I have used several seo freelancers and developers, but none of them have really made any difference. When we carry out site audits, comparing against my competitors, the reports show that my site should perform equally as well organically; if not better. I have just had a developer fix an issue whereby h1, h2, h3 tags were not being identified correctly, and it appears that some url's have miraculously duplicated (meaning duplicate content in the yes of Google) I now have to seriously consider dropping using Prestashop after the massive financial investment, and switch to another platform; and start all over again!. It is worth noting that since posting this question/issue, nobody from Prestashop has responded and offered advice or comments!!!

Hi, since moving my sites to Prestashop I have experienced bad search engine results; and that was 3 years+ ago! Prior to that I enjoyed page 1 Google placement nationally for 2 or 3 of my main keywords, and even had 3 sites on page 1 all offering exactly the same products. As my sites have fallen in the rankings, I have engaged a number of different freelancers to address the problem; all without any noticeable success, and so I am turning in desperation to the experts and fellow Prestashop users in the hope that there is something obvious that is being missed. I have had site analysis reports, keyword reports, installed ssl certification, made the sites mobile friendly, have robots.txt files and sitemaps set up as cronjobs, have added content frequently and change content regularly, had disavow files created to remove bad links, had white hat link building projects, all to no avail. My main site today is at position 80'ish for my main keyword 'faux fur throws' and lower for 'faux fur throw'. When I look at the page source, there appears to be mountains of coding on each page which must be masking information for spidering; should it all be there? Unfortunately, I know how to make product, and how to administer the site, but my technical abilities are very limited and have to rely on freelancers or organisations for optimisation work, but after 3 years and many, many hundreds of pounds, I am no better off. Against my 2 main competitors, I am told that my site is on a similar level, but they are on page 1 and I am miles away and losing market share by the day. I can not afford expensive seo companies, and they all seem to want to do exactly the same work (a site analysis, keyword research, competitor analysis, link checking, etc.) all of which has been done several times. My website is https://www.faux-fur-throws.com/ My home page seems to get picked up at position 80 for the keyword 'faux fur throws' but shouldn't it be the main category page being picked up as it has more content and is more relevant to the search? Any guidance would be very much appreciated (before I go bust!) or recommendation of an seo expert who doesn't want to sell a standard package, who is flexible, and CHEAP! Thanks in anticipation. Hi, sorry guys, need your help again! Just had an issue with Supercheckout module not working with Paypal. Now it has been corrected, but a setting somewhere along the line has changed. Now, when a customer adds something to cart, they are immediately taken to checkout page. Prior to the issue I had with Paypal, a customer could continue adding things to cart until they had finished their selection, and then they would click 'cart' which would open the checkout page. Anyone know where the setting is to change this. I have been told that it is probably in Supercheckout module configuration or checkout settings in admin, but I can't find anything anywhere. Hi, need a little help again guys please. I had 'Super Checkout' by Knowband module installed to make checking out much faster and efficient. I have checked all the required and not-required fields, and have set state/county as a required field. Unfortunately,, because of the alphabetic listing, Aberdeen City is at the top of the list and appears to be set as a default setting. This means that if customers forget (or deliberately do not correct) that all customers state/county for UK is set to Aberdeen City. Under normal circumstances this would just be a minor irritation which I can search for correct county, etc. But shipping costs are set based on county/state, and I have now had a couple of orders where the customer lives in Northern Ireland (which should be off-shore shipping) but left Aberdeen City as the default county; so shipping was calculated as UK mainland at a much cheaper price. How do I get Knowband Supercheckout to recognise that county/state is a necessary field (even though I have checked the boxes) or is there somewhere else in Prestashop configuration where I might need to make county/state a necessary field? Hi dlgint once I knew that the issue was mainly with Google, then I used Firefox to make changes to my prices and they saved. Don't know if it will work for creating new products, but it's worth a try (at least until Firefox update their server too) Hopefully by that time Prestashop will have come up with a fix. Good luck. Hi, I am hoping this is something really obvious that I am missing, but I am trying to change prices for various products (both the base price and the attributes/combinations. I did this to a whole bunch of prices last week without any problems whatsoever, and the previous week changed meta titles, descriptions and some content without issue. However, today, whenever I try to change the base price and click 'save and stay' OR just 'save' the new price is NOT saved and it shows the old price. I also do not get the 'this page has successfully been updated' message in green at the top of the page. What am I missing here? I have closed the dashboard and re-visited. I have checked that I am still listed as 'superadmin'! I have not updated anything directly. I am on version 1.6.1.4 Any suggestions? Regards, Misterc

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. It works for all of the other pages, but for the index page we have added the extra text/title that we require but it isn't being picked up by Google (only the shop title) In Prestashop help documents, if we understand them correctly, states that the page title is determined by the store name, so presumably we would need to change the store name to a name plus a description, for this to be picked up by Google.

HI, We have just updated to Prestashop 1.6.1.4, although the problem was evident on the previous version we were using. My home page (which is the most important page usually for Google indexing) is only showing the shop name as the title (faux-Fur-Throws.com) I have tried adding further information (Huge range of faux fur throw designs) which shows in the dashboard but doesn't appear in the Google listing. In the help section, if I read it correctly, it said that the index page title is determined by the name of the store in store contacts. But if that is the case, does it mean I have to call my store Faux-Fur-Throws.com | Huge range of faux fur throw designs, to get the listing I want in Google? Perhaps I am just not interpreting the instructions correctly? The url's of all of my other pages are fine; just the index/home page. Any guidance appreciated. John C

Hi, I am using multishop. Having installed a couple of themes and worked on the design of them, I need to temporarily delete or uninstall while a product list is created and then the them added at a later date. Is there any way that an adapted theme can be saved/stored (along with its cms pages and store configurations) or will I just have to revert to the default theme and have to add all of that stuff again later? The reason for having to do this is that I created all products in store 1, then added and adapted 2 themes for stores 2 and 3, hoping to copy the database of products across. Unfortunately, the product listings are getting jumbled up, wrong titles going to wrong images, etc. so need to approach it from a different angle. Any help appreciated. Regards, JC

Hi, I wonder if anyone can assist a newby? I have added the module 'ask about product' to a site I am working on. The configure element only allows very elementary changes. However, the grammar is very poor and I need to make corrections to the wording. How do I do this? Also it suggests that an automatic email response can be sent to the enquirer; how do I see the wording of that email so that also can be corrected? Any help appreciated. Mister C
