  1. After migrating to live server, it's impossible to edit the product from back office. Every click on save and stay or save button, it will take several minutes for the response "successful update". There is no big issue when testing on local server and all the settings are the same. Do not know what causes the problem. Any ideas will be appreciated.
  2. The speed of PS1.6.0.13 on local server is fine, both back office and front office. After migrating it to live server, the speed of product editing becomes extremely slow. I saw many others having problem in save and stay and save button, while I don't. My problem is after clicking "save and stay" or "save" it takes several minutes to get "successful update". There is not such problem in local server and all the settings are the same. Totally lost what causes the problem. Any ideas will be appreciated! Kent
  3. Really need some help in trouble shooting the problem. Environment: Uniserver as localhost, PS1.6.0.13 Setting: display tax inclusive price to customers and other groups, hide price to visitors and guests. Problem: When first log in as customer or other group member, the price displayed in home page, product list page and shopping cart are all price without tax. I believe all the settings are for the price to be displayed with tax. But after I go through the process of check out, and go back to homepage again, the prices are displayed correctly with tax. Home page, product list and shopping cart, no problem at all. As the prices are displayed correctly after going through check out, I guess there should be no problem of the settings. Instead, there should be some conflict or override stopping the display of price with tax. What I tried: Cleared cache of browser, cleared cache from server, disable non prestashop module, No success with above. Then I guess this is not a problem caused by any non prestashop module. By the way, I cannot set "Disable all overrides" to yes. So I cannot say if there might be problem with override. I did make some change in the file product.tpl but I cannot reproduce the above problem on live server with the same product.tpl. Really weird! Any thoughts on this will be appreciated! Regards! Kent
  4. Thanks for your comments!, Ok, that's how they put beta there? I thought all the PS1.6 are just beta versions! My mistake. Just like what you said, what works for 1 merchant does not necessarily work for others. And that's the main reason I am here to ask if 1.6.0.13 is good for production. As for performance, I am fine with it because I am not targeting a large number of users. What concerns me more is the stability, I guess. As long as it can run in a stable manner, I would be happy. 5. After solving the problem of font size of short description and long description, another modification is needed. Please see the attached pic for reference. I'd like to increase the font size of product name in product page, how can this be done? It's PS1.6.0.13, default theme. Thanks Kent I found it in line 313 in product.css, in case someone wants to do this as well. .pb-center-column h1 { padding-bottom: 16px; font-size: 14px; color: #3a3939; } Just change the font size there and it works.
  6. I've found the solution for this, which is in this post: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/333218-change-font-sizecolor-product-pages/ namely, short description in product.css and long description in global.css. But now I need to change the font of the product name on that page. Thanks! Kent
  7. Thanks for the detailed explanation. After implementing the change, I did not see any change at front office. Tried to clear cache, reload webpage, still no success. I'd better attach pics on the original post to show where I'd like to modify the font. Thanks Kent
  8. Are you using PS1.6.0.11 for a live site? Agreed with your points about personal needs and bugs. That's why I am here to ask opinions from others. Thanks
  9. As shown in the forum, PS1.6 are all beta versions. Software of beta versions are not supposed to be for production. This is why I get confused about this. I totally agree with what you said, 1. what we want to implement, 2. every software has bugs, I'm hoping to get some confirmation that PS1.6 can be stable enough for production,
  10. I got the following code in product.css. Still dont know what to add as I am not a coder. Any further guidance will be appreciated. 1. .pb-center-column #short_description_block { color: #666; } .pb-center-column #short_description_block .buttons_bottom_block { display: none; } .pb-center-column #short_description_block #short_description_content { padding: 0 0 15px; word-wrap: break-word; } .pb-center-column #short_description_block #short_description_content p { line-height: 18px; } 2. /* table_data_sheet */ .table-data-sheet { border-bottom: 1px solid #d6d4d4; width: 100%; margin: 0 0 20px; background: #fff; } .table-data-sheet tr { border-top: 1px solid #d6d4d4; } .table-data-sheet tr.even { background: #fdfdfd; } .table-data-sheet tr td { padding: 10px 20px 11px; } .table-data-sheet tr td:first-child { border-right: 1px solid #d6d4d4; width: 30%; font-weight: 700; color: #333; } For long description, there is no other way to do it for all the pages? If I have to change it in text editor, I can also change the short description in text editor. Thanks Kent
  11. Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with the coding for changing the font size of the following on every product page. 1. short description (Please see attachment short1.jpg) 2. long description, Please see attachment long.jpg) 3. data sheet (product features) (also attachment long.jpg) I'm using default theme of PS1.6.0.13. I understand it should be modified in global.css, and there are several previous posts on this topic, but I am still at loss about it. Your help will be greatly appreciated! Regards kent
  12. Thank you for your comment! I was playing with 1.6.0.9 as well, but the site get crashed after implementing a code modification somewhere for the back office. Problem is that I've got no knowledge of coding, and just follow the posts in the forum. After that I gave up on that version. There are posts in the forum saying that to wait till 1.6.1 which hopefully will be stable. Again, we never know how soon the 1.6 stable version will be ready. Anyway, I am still playing with 1.6.0.13 on my localhost as well as live server these day, good thing is that I did not experience much problem with it. Most likely it's because I am not a coder, so I am unable to locate the bugs. Regards! Kent
  13. Hi, During the tests I've done for the past days, personally I found it meets my requirements after the modification done to the code by myself, through the previous research from the forum. Started to play with PS from 1.5 and we know PS1.5.6.2 is stable and of less bug, then with the introduction of PS1.6, the improvement of front office is brilliant. While during the tests of previous versions, I always have problems until the latest 1.6.0.13. As we see over here that all the PS1.6 versions are beta versions, my question will be that if PS1.6.0.13 good for live site or do we have to wait for PS1.6.1.* Any feedback from you will be appreciated. Kent
  14. Most likely you need to contact your hosting provider to change that value for you. At least I experienced same situation and the hosting provider increased that value for me. There are similar posts in the forum.
  15. Hi, Doing the test on local host for PS1.6.0.13 these days. Love this version, almost everything seems fine, except one thing about carrier. I disabled one carrier for one group at the back office, but it still shows at front office. Cleared cache, cleared browser data, changed browser, and the carrier is still available for that group. Where might be the problem from? Thanks Kent PS: Figured out by myself. Deleted all generated cached files from server and it works.
