Hello, Wondering if anyone might be able to help... My client's site is running an old modified PrestaShop 1.5.4.1 website on php 5.2 (I know... Advised numerous times to update without uptake). We previously had a number of custom reports and a few features developed which complicates things and is the reason we have not updated the site - increasing Prestashop or PHP version will break some of the reports and features. Updating is now on the cards to do at some stage in the future which is excellent but the most pressing thing is an issue that has just started 2 days ago with the add to cart behaviour which has stopped the site from functioning properly. When a customer is not logged in to the my account section: In Firefox, the javascript add to cart pop-up appears, but the cart in the header does not get updated - nothing shows in the cart. Any existing items in the cart from before the login show again in the my account section... (not sure if relevant but that is under https, the product pages of the site are under http (how 1.5.X works) In both browser in the my account section the padlock in the website header is open and it says "hi nick" (as if logged in), but changing to the other pages (which are http) the padlock in the website header is closed and there is no username (as if not logged in) I have temporarily turned Not sure if these are relevant. edit: removed after non response There is also an update available to the PayPal module. Also not sure if that is relevant to this issue... I don't know if that could create add to cart issue. We have not made any changes to the site. My gut feel is that its a security or some other setting on the server. We have chatted to the web host but they can''t identfy the issue and said they have not done any server changes. Any ideas on what we can do as a quick fix? Many thanks in advance.

Ah I see. That's a shame its not based on usage / installation - in the backend the PayPal Europe moduled is installed but there is no mention of an update being available. We are in Australia. Thank you - noted and removed. I updated the PayPal Europe module to the latest version and tested - again I was able to pay successfully via PayPal, it all seems to work fine for me. Hopefully that fixes it for the customers too. Cheers for your help.

Hello Bellini13, Thanks for the reply. My understanding is that this version of PayPal module (3.8.1) is patched against Poodle (per info from one of your posts referenced in (https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/382023-urgent-upgrading-ssl30-to-tls-of-paypal/?hl=%2Bssl3+%2Bpaypal). Just on that, when I do an SSL check for poodle for the website, it passes, saying: POODLE (SSLv3): No, SSL 3 not supported POODLE (TLS): No Ah ok - it may be the age of the module and the new server. Wierdly it does not say an update is available in the PrestaShop backend. I will look at updating the module. But - the module does work for me. As I said in the original post I am able to succesfully place an order and pay through PayPal, as can my client in testing. Just that she received some error reports from a few customers like the one shown. Thanks for any further help.

Hello, My client is using PrestaShop 1.5.4.1 in a site that uses the PayPal module (Developed by :PrestaShop, Version: 3.8.1) as a payment option. She received some info from customers saying they were receiving error messages when trying to pay on her site with PayPal. The website was migrated to a new server 2 weeks ago and initially there was an error with the PHP version on the new server and some things not working. When that was wound back to match the PHP version on the old server, things seemed fine. This may be related to the server move? But when I test my end, I get no such errors - it works fine for me. I choose PayPal in step 5 of the checkout and I am taken to the PayPal website where I login and payment is processed by PayPal successfully and then I am redirected to the confirmation page on my client's website. That works as expected. The error message she forwarded to me includes the following info which may mean something to an experienced user... A client has encountered a problem with the module PayPalAPI, see the report: ...Lots of info, relating to the order... Send with CURL method failed ! Error: SSL read: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0), errno 104 Connect failed with fsockopen method A screencap of the error is attached in case there is some other relevant info in there. According to Bellini13 from this thread, there are only 2 Paypal modules that were developed and provided by Prestashop: 1) Paypal, otherwise known as Paypal Europe. (this is the one used in Australia) 2) Paypal USA, Canada, Mexico So upgrading PayPal 'Europe' is apparently the solution for Australian PrestaShops. Thanks Dominic, I actually did that after posting my initial reply to your post so I will see what they say in that thread. I will report back when I hear. Why is it with PrestaShop that so many core files need little hacks? And that it seems accepted by the user community that hacks go hand in hand with using PrestaShop? The more hacks an install has, the harder it is to upgrade to the latest version. And the more hacks needed, the more questions I have over PrestaShop.

Hi and thanks Dominic, I read that post and it sounded promising - then I did a search in the module files to double check and I think it might affect the Australian PayPal module actually. We are using PrestaShop 1.5.4.1 with PayPal module 3.6. On line 84 of modules\paypal\api\paypal_connect.php I can see: @curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_SSLVERSION, 3); I think that is the code in question.

Hi bburke, I think its definitely a design limitation of the PrestaShop cart. Without providing an "overflow" scrollbar, PrestaShop sites with many items in the cart will run into this problem. The css shown in the second post definitely works in our situation on desktop computers. To use it: You'll need to edit your shop's css and add that (or similar depending if your theme's html is different) in there - at the bottom might be a good idea so you don't overwrite existing styles. If you don't know how to edit the css file, your web designer or someone in these forums can do it for you. Hi Sara, A more experienced user will be able to provide better help but I will try my best. 1. Re the image paths in a csv file I was able to successfully import the image names correctly in using this format: http://yourdomain.com/img/any-temporary-folder-name/image-name.jpg So I think the full image path actually needs the domain name (eg as if you were typing that url to view the image in your browser), and the images need to be uploaded via ftp to a temporary folder in PrestaShop's "img" folder before importing. Then I think on importing the csv file, PrestaShop grabs those images and puts them into their own folder for each product inside the "img > p" folder - I do not think you can control the names of the final image folders, numbers are used for folder names. I think you should be able to use the path to the images you have uploaded in the files folder in your csv file like so: http://yourdomain.com/Files/Billeder/konferenceborde/Konferencebord-2.jpg (make sure the Capitals are correct as it might be case sensitive) If that doesn't work, try moving those images from the files folder to a temporary folder in PrestaShop's img folder. 2. I can't answer that sorry, only that PrestaShop sometimes does some wierd things. Its probably good practice to use lowercase anyway 3. Also I am not sure about 3 either. My experience with the csv importing was that not all fields can be imported. Hopefully a more experienced user replies with more info. Good luck with the project.

I have added this to the css and this seems to solve the problem: #cart_block #cart_block_list dl { max-height: 800px; overflow: auto; } 10 items can be added before scroll bars appear. Is css the best way to do it?

Hello, We are using PrestaShop 1.5.4.1 for a food delivery business (a supermarket style cart) selling fruit and vegtables, herbs etc. When lots of products (eg 25) are added to the cart and the cart is viewed on shortish pages: the top RHS cart "drop down" is no longer scrollable and therefore unuseable and the Cart and Checkout buttons are not visible - they are off the screen down below. See attached screen capture. 10 seems to be the optimimum number of products to show in the cart for the shortest page on the site. Is there a way to limit the number of products that are shown in the top RHS cart "drop down"? Or would you tackle this with css for a maximum height and a scrollbar? Thanks in advance

Hi Flipe, That looks similar to my settings but our country is included, I am not sure why yours wouldn't. A PS expert might be able to help you. Did you try Pascal's steps from the second post? That worked for me once I had the zones etc setup. Because this thread is marked as solved, perhaps starting a new thread would get a better response from the PS experts? Good luck.
