  1. OK, learnt a lesson: Search the forum before posting questions! SOLVED using this thread: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/505284-logo-is-holding-white-background/
  2. I have a logo for my shop header, but it is not a regular shape. It is currently a .png, using a transparent background. When I set it as my Header Logo, I get white sections where the image is "squared off". Is it possible to have the background show through the transparent sections, or otherwise display it 'correctly'? I have attached the logo image, and a crop of the shop display showing the white bits.
  3. I have sort-of solved this by splitting the CSV into several (4) parts, and importing them separately. It is a bit of a faff, but gets there. I have to check the parent-categories, and split the file for Import so that each Parent is done in order - I'm thinking of them as Prerequisites: 52 has a pre-req of 51, which has a pre-req of 155 ... 48 has a pre-req of 51. So load a section with 155, then 51, then 52 and 48 ...
  4. OK, thanks for clearing that up. I now get a database error "Parent Category does not Exist" I believe this may be to do with importing many Categories at once, as they are multi-layered. Some categories are not defined until further down the list. I have tried sorting by Category ID, but e.g. Category 48 has parent 155 (Not defined until later) I have tried sorting by Parent ID but e.g. Category 52 has a parent 51 - but 51 has parent 155 - not defined until further down list I seem to be in Catch-22
  5. I have a Categories CSV file from my supplier (along with a Products CSV). When I try to import the Categories file, I get many errors, and the categories either do not import, or import wrong (uses Number instead of text-name, do not nest properly). I have tried deleting the categories, and also using the Force Delete before Import function. My "Home" category now has ID 2, which clashes with an ID from my CSV. Altering the CSV will be a huge amount of work, and would have to be done each time the CSV is updated/re-imported. What ID should my "Home" Category have (0?) and is there a way of altering it? Using the Edit function does not give me the option of altering the ID. Is there a simple way of completely resetting the Categories (and Products) list to default values? Thanks in advance.
  6. My shop is at: https://www.thecrystalwizard.co.uk/cave/index.php I got it working using the remote image, but now I cannot get it to load my own image. I shall have another quick look ... (The local image is a light pink/purple crystal effect) EDIT: BINGO! Working! EDIT: FYI - I used the second of your suggestions. .header-container, header, .columns-container { background: none; } body { background: url('../img/my_background.jpg'); image loaded into /themes/THEME-NAME/img/
  7. Progress! I have found (using Mozilla Inspect Element, rather than my favoured Chrome) that global.css (in themes/THEME-NAME/css/ ) is being over-ridden by /modules/themeconfigurator/css/theme2.css I am able to alter theme2.css, but this does not feel right. Can I stop the Theme Configurator from over-riding global.css? I have managed to reset the Theme Configurator and now it seems that my edits in global.css are working. Thanks for your help! I'm sure I will be back with more questions later!
  8. Thanks. Currently I am struggling to identify what it is I am trying to edit. I have started a new thread just working on the background - i am trying to use an Image. https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/538670-how-do-i-addchange-a-background-image/ It looks as thought I need to alter the columns-container element, but the edits I have made do not seem to work. More detail in other thread.
  9. Thanks for the reply Sorry, that didn't appear to do anything. I also changed to url('/img/my_background.jpg') (where I have a picture, in case it was struggling to pull that remote image), to no effect.
  10. I am using a clone of the bootstrap-default theme (I'm calling it Crystaline) on Prestashop 1.6.1.6 I would like to change the background image to one of my own, and have it static as the page scrolls down. I cannot find a setting in the Theme Configurator for this. I am confident at editing .php and .css, once I know where I am supposed to be editing! Can anyone help please?
  11. I didn't want to fill the forum with lots of specific requests, but if that is what you recommend, I shall go for it.
  12. Hi. Returning to Prestashop after some time away. I've forgotten things, and it's all changed! I have loaded up my shop (1.6.1.6) with the basic theme (bootstrap-default). I would like to make some alterations to the Theme that I cannot find in the Configurator or Live Edit. I would like to make lots of changes to the Colour Scheme (I would like Deep Purples and Pastel Pinks). I would also like to use my own background image. I am confident at editing .php and .css files (and know to make backups before changing anything!) I have used PrestaShop's "Create New Theme" to clone bootstrap-default, and called it Crystaline. Site URL: http://thecrystalwizard.co.uk/cave/index.php In Development! Can anyone help, or point me at resources for this?
  13. Solved. I found that my Host's cPanel includes PrestaShop as a Softalicious install. I used this to remove the old shop, and install a new one in a different directory So far, all is working.
  14. Hi. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have borked my shop! Luckily it was not active at the time. i had already put it in maintenance mode. Now I am ready to re-start trading, and things have changed ... I had to uninstall the SSL certificate. I have now been issued a new one. Would deleting the /shop directory and basically starting over be the best idea, or is there more needs doing? Thanks in advance EDIT: Extra info Trying to view the shop gives the Down For Maintenance screen. Trying to log in to the admin area gives 500-Database error.
