Does the problem go away when you disable "Allow out of stock ordering"? If that is the case, I have the same problem. I think it is a bug.

Hi, Yes, the problems with load speed are gone. You can have a look at http://www.computercentrale.be to check what kind of response times we have now. We currently have +- 160 categories and 90.000 products in the database. There was not really 1 fix to get to this result but we suspect the performance problems were related to: - The version of Prestashop: 1.5.5.x brought performance improvement compared with 1.5.4.x - We moved from a shared hosting to a dedicated server, we believe the MySQL was a serious bottleneck at our provider's side mostly due to memory limitations we suspect. With a large Prestashop database some huge queries are performed and this requires memory - We did some tuning of our dedicated MySQL server, mainly memory optimisation Our server specs: Intel Quad-Core Xeon E3-1220, 1 CPU, Quad Core, 3100Mhz, 8 GB RAM DDR3 running Prestashop 1.5.6.2

I have some additional info: For my case it looks like orders CREATED after the update to 1.5.6.0 are properly sending status update messages. Orders that already existed don't send messages. I will do further testing, but mentioning this maybe other people have the same issue.

In 1.5.5.0 it was working, after upgrading to 1.5.6.0 it stopped. I am using PHP to send mails. Test mail is working, when changing order statusses mails are NOT sent.

In Prestashop 1.5.5.0 I am experiencing the following issues Changing order status times out after 5 minutes. Order confirmation via bankwire times out after 5 minutes. The rest of the shop is working quite fast actually so it seems to have to do with specific queries or PHP code or so? Anyone experiencing the same issue or able to fix this? On 1.5.4.1 this was working. This issue has also been reported by other people via http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCFV-10455

I am currently on a shared hosting. In my test environment on a dedicated PC I am experiencing some of the same problems, however, some things run faster. Thanks for the article link, I will use it as I am planning to move to a dedicated platform which will hopefully solve most, if not all, of these problems. People who have the same size of Prestashop and running well, I am interested in the hardware/software config specs.

I am looking for experiences with big stores and performance backoffice. I have 33.000 products and 200 categories with over 100.000 images and about 180.000 features. In 1.5.5.0 the front office performance is good (a lot better then 1.5.4.1), however backoffice performance is slow, mostly when updating a product. e.g. Adding a price rule, changing picture, takes over 5 minutes to be processed. Also Layered Navigation is impossible to configure, after 10 minutes I am able to save but the template is not stored in the database, so actually it doesn't work. With smaller database I have none of these issues. Anyone with same problem and/or ways to fix this?
