  1. OK, I've done it... It was more simple than I thought... Nice piece of software though!!!
Merci p.
  3. Hello, I recently tried to replace the template's categories by my own... I have succeded in creating a couple in french... But the problem I'm having is a translation one... When I view the site in french, that OK, but when I want to switch the language to English, the categories' name stay in french... I tried creating a new category in English, by selecting the right language first... But when I tried to save the new english category, I got an error message saying that I had to have some text in french and therefore it did not save anything... Something I'm missing here? your help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks p.
  4. Yeah, maybe so... they're a small company but the people there are extra nice and I've been with them for many years on a special radio broadcast site... They're specialized in web radio... I think I am pushing them with my new project... In all it took me half a day and a few emails... That's true, they may not have known that from the start, but at least they never lied about it and now they know The way I see it, it's a win/win relationship! Thanks again, your post did helped a lot!
  5. Problem solved... once the php issue was fixed, the program behaved as you said it would... Turns out it is much easier to update texts file than I thought. Thanks p.
  6. With a few messages to tech support and the link you provided, we were able to fix the issue... Thanks for the help and BTW, I have a great hosting company
  7. Hi, Here's the problem : My host is running PHP v.5.3.0. I think Prestashop 1.5 has features implemented for PHP v5.3.9. I get a error message when trying to edit text from the back office : "Warning, your PHP configuration limits the maximum number of fields to post in a form: 1000 for max_input_vars. Please ask your hosting provider to increase the this limit to 1318 at least or edit the translation file manually." My host doesn't quite know what to do with that... What would be the solution? I asked about the PHP history because I wonder if someone knows if this feature of PHP is there in v5.3.0.? If not, do I ask my host to update PHP? How can I change the text manually? Well, for a newb, I got a great challenge... Your help is appreciated. p.
  8. Hey, despite their good will and all, I was informed that my host run on PHP 5.3.0. And it seems that the error message refers to PHP 5.3.9. Is is possible to make it work with the earlier version of PHP? Should I repost this message in another forum? Thanks
  9. Thanks, that should go well, I've been with this host for many years and have had sometimes some unusual request... They always collaborated... We'll see :-D
  10. I tried, but I got a php error that I don't understand : "Warning, your PHP configuration limits the maximum number of fields to post in a form: 1000 for max_input_vars. Please ask your hosting provider to increase the this limit to 1318 at least or edit the translation file manually." so I guess I need to contact my Hosting provider and ask them to change the settings... No wonder I was lost... Anyhow, When this will work correctly, will I be able to edit my text on my own? Do I need to restore the fr.php file that I modified manually? Many thanks P.
  11. I'm afraid your answer brings confusion in my mind... What do you mean by "find the text and change it" Where do I do that... Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my explanations... I don't want to translate text... I want to modify text... The generic text that comes out after the installation says that "my hotline is open 24/7... That is not true... I want to modify this for a more acurate statement like : "call us during business hours" As I mentionned. I modified the fr.php file and that worked for the French site, but it did nothing to the English site... Maybe the way I see the problem is wrong, maybe there are other ways of doing what I want but I wouldn't know... I try my best with the knowledge I have... Which is limited... Is it a little bit more clear on what I want to do? Thanks p.
  12. Hello, I'm building a bilingual site. French and English... On the Contact block, it is written that my hotline is available 24/7... I'm afaraid that is not the case :-D Diving into the code, I was able to change the text for the French part of the site (by going to the module/blockcontact/translations/fr.php). But however I was unable to locate the English part... I tried modifying the "blockcontact.tpl" file, that did change the text and I don't quite understand how, it also when over the French text with the result that no matter what was the selected language, it was always the same text in English... I was able to revert to the version before... So no harm was done there... Anyone can help identify which file needs to be edited? Many thanks P.
  13. Thanks nemo1, that helped a lot to understand the basics... I've watched the 2nd one so far but will dive into the others soon... Thanks P.
