  1. Hey symanski, Benjamin, and others. I feel the same way about this. I have already spent over 100 hours on this project trying to get the store running. I got the error with no description today from the Sandbox which I am using to test the shopping cart. This time, I think it is related to paypal blocking the IP from a specific country. As my client/boss is in south america and I am testing in Canada. The transaction takes place in Canada in the sandbox and in paypal but only in US currency but not in south america where my client wants to see his items. If we cannot resolve this we may dump paypal altogether and go with another provider. It is wasting time and stealing opportunity. As you can imaging, the client is upset to put it gently.
  2. I am starting to consider other options to paypal as my payment processor as even testing in the sandbox environment is not that good. The transactions works in Canada but not in the country where I want to sell my products. LOL. But I'm also thinking it may be a prestashop code issue which I need to investigate with the PS tech people more. Hopeful I'll have better news.
  3. I must be an expert on this error by now. It is because you are trying to checkout with a currency that paypal does not support. You must use US dollars or one off the 23 other supported currencies.
  4. Hi everyone, I'd like to test the geolocation feature in the shop out by simulating being a buyer from a specific country. Does anyone know of any geolocation software that would allow me to do this? I want to set the proxy for a specific country I am testing and not just a randomly assigned anonymous proxy. Thanks.
  5. It's is completely weird. But this cart stopped again. Has anyone had any success solving the cart issue. I'm using a vanilla install and just when I think I got it. I miss something.
  6. I am also eagerly awaiting the return of this feature. Can you post a link with the updated module. Thanks a lot.
  7. Thanks Vinum. Managed to resolve the country issue by disabling all countries then activating only the two or three that I need. But seems to work now. Hesitant to upgrade to 1.5.2 because this is a new site I don't want broken by a patchy upgrade.
  8. I am having the same "Your shopping cart is empty." error popping up but this happens when I try to test the cart for a country outside of Canada, that is, Trinidad. The shopping cart works when I try to test transactions from Canada. I'm using 1.5.1. Thanks in advance. Update: This problem of the empty cart seems to show up in chrome sometimes and other times in firefox. hope this clue helps someone.
  9. I am having the same type of problem but the issue happens when I try to add the item to a cart outside of Canada. I'm working on this for my friend in Trinidad. When he tries to add any item to the cart, the item flies into the cart. It says one item. When he clicks on the cart, it is empty. I have the shop setup for both Canada and Trinidad countries but am stumped here. It works when I try the transaction in Canada. Benjamin or anyone, any ideas? [Edit] I'm using PS 1.5.1 This is a single shop not multishop install.
  10. The most important aspect of any ecommerce system is the complete the sale. The installation of prestashop 1.5.1 seems to want to behave like a "blog" instead of an ecommerce site The cart does not wish to accept sales. Issue #1:RESOLVED The site generates the error "No payment modules have been installed." when I get to the final step of the prestashop 5 step process. If I use the paypal button and avoid the PS step the amount gets transferred to paypal without a problem. [update: The cart goes all the way through to paypal if I set US dollars as the default currency. Issue is with selecting/checking the paypal button for our currencies.] . Issue #2:RESOLVED Also, the currency block has a mind of its own and refuses to go back to the top of the page and replace the bookmark link. [ Uninstalled then reinstalled then hooked to the topDisplay. ] Issue #3:RESOLVED The shopping cart is not storing any items when my friend tries to add an item to the cart from a country outside North America. I'd like to sell to anyone in the world so I need anyone to be able to buy. Issue #4: RESOLVED Paypal only processes the payment in US currency but I need customers to see the price in the default currency and the US dollar equivalent. [ Just tell the customer to change currency to US before checkout ] If there is a [spam-filter] with the PS skill to resolve these issue quickly, You will need to fully document any changes you make to the code or modules. CONCLUDING THOUGHTS This experience has left me a bit disillusioned with prestashop. Support seems lacking and a forum full of people with problems many of which seem unanswered. This is sad especially if the same answer is being asked by 10 or 20 people. In the end, all the prestashop developers need to do is focus on a good solid product that brings joy to the shop owners. I'd be glad to see a forum with only a few requests for help instead of pages and pages of begging for help and no response. With 2 million downloads, obviously something is going right for some. I will finish this prestashop job for my client but will not recommend this product to another client until it is stable for at least a year or two. That's why I never rush out to get the latest software. My life energy and time is just too precious to be bogged down in the onslaught of bugs with a new launch. But lesson learned. My heart goes out to all the struggling newbies, and the good souls who sincerely try to help. Thanks for your patience and real support. Not to be overly negative, some videos people posted or screenshots made a huge difference when trying to figure out what to do. A two or 3 minute video clip is better than two or 3 pages of documentation but you still need both. You guys and gals with the vids were awesome.
  11. Thank you Mike for your screencast. It was most helpful and made me think that this prestashop is a useful program if we know how to use it.
  12. Running Prestashop 1.5.1 I have tried everything under the sun trying to get the shopping cart to work. I keep getting the error " There is 1 error There are no carriers that deliver to the address you selected." I also noticed that every time I change the carrier setting the ID gets incremented. The carrier started as ID 8 but now it is ID 15. Can someone please help me with this. I too am disappointed with this product after I recommended it. It has high potential but the bugs are frustrating. Feels like Gilligan's Island where a 3 hour tour turns into forever on a wreck. Thanks to the experts out there.
