Thank you, El Patron but I'm afraid your answer is a bit off. Moving hosting is real hassle especially for a non-technical person so I don't know if it's a good solution. Passing the ball of responsibility to the hosting service provider is easy enough but the time taken will be huge. Anyway, I'm using Amazon EC2 as server, I'm an engineer and I have absolute control of the hosting environment. This must be something really trivial but not documented and I'm hoping someone can point it out for me

How can give write permission to the root directory knowing how dangerous it is? An error occured while trying to check your file permissions. Please adjust your permissions to allow PrestaShop to write a file in your root directory I've tried creating sitemap.xml, index_sitemap.xml and 1_index_sitemap.xml and gave write permission to them but no luck. I'm using Prestashop 1.5.5.0 and Google Sitemap module 2.3.2

I'm trying to install Google Sitemap module for my shop but encountering this error. What should I do? Should I give write permission to certain directories? Which ones? The following module(s) were not installed properly:- gsitemap : Unable to install override: directory (/<root directory of my shop>/override/classes/shop) not writable My ultimate goal is to get a xml sitemap which I can submit to Google Webmaster Tools so any alternatives are welcome

After clicking the "Add to cart" button, I do see the effect of the item flying to the cart and the cart details expands downwards. However, the "Cart" and "Checkout" button do not show. This is only happening to Chrome but not Firefox. I'm using a Mac. I inspect the HTML and do see that the CSS attribute of <p id="cart-buttons"> did change from display:none to display:block as a result of me clicking "Add to cart". Strangely, the buttons do not show. Any ideas how to fix this? I've attached the screenshot from Firefox and Chrome for comparison. Updates: This issue is also happening to Safari. Perhaps a problem with Webkit engine?

I'm relying on PayPal module to handle the magic behind the scene. Just curious what is the default IPN URL, at least it's structure like?

I'm having the same problem with my PayPal Sandbox payment. I'm using PayPal Canada USA 1.2.7 module. PayPal Standard is enabled. My shop enables 2 currency USD and SGD with SGD being the default currency. Payment settings allow PayPal in both USA and Singapore. Both my personal and business PayPal Sandbox accounts have country as US. I have already configure my PayPal Sandbox account (business) to automatically accept payments of any currency. All payments went through smoothly but Prestashop hasn't recorded any order at all. Order is created for payment through BankWire however. My Prestashop version is 1.5.5.0 More info: When PayPal transaction is done, I was not redirected back to the shop. Once I clicked on the link to return to the shop manually I saw "You have not placed any order". I saw no error at all throughout the whole process. It should have to do with the shop's location right? If I buy stuffs on Amazon USA then I have to pay USD. PayPal cares about that but not where I live (Singapore), right?

This is a free Prestashop theme that I found on ... The theme include those empty CSS files (for what purpose I'm not sure) and it is Chrome's and Firefox's default behavihour to show them as 404, that's all. I simple have to manually remove/ replace these files with what I want or leaving them alone would do no harm either. I'm satisfied with this explanation and workaround for now. Both Cart block on top of my webpage and the "Add to cart" button in each product disappear. This happens on every page of my website and this happen all out of a sudden (pardon me, if I could recall/ narrow down what change I made is causing this then I wouldn't ask a question here) What I have tried to troubleshoot/ resolve the problem: - Verified that "Cart block" v1.2 module is installed and enabled (also tried disable & enable again, reset, uninstall and install again) - Verified that under "Modules" >> "Positions", "Cart block" is there under both "Pages header" and "Top of pages" - Verified that there is no Javascript files with 404 error - Verified that there is no HTML code at all for the the cart block or the "Add to cart" button so CSS issues are irrelevant <section id="header_user" class="blockuserinfo-cart header-box"> </section> - Switched back to default theme but absolutely no luck I'm pretty sure this is something trivial that I missed.
