  1. Hi There, I've managed to hide the shipping cost for visitors/guests in themes/default-bootstrap/modules/blockcart/blockcart.tpl but I've been going crazy trying to find how to do the same in the shopping cart overlay that comes up when you hit "add to cart" and in the "Shopping-cart summary". I'm very keen to work this out as I have just realised that I no longer need multi-store (which will cost £1k to integrate to my shipping warehouse linnworks system) and can operate global shipping in one store (cost £75 to integrate). I'm happy to have a message displayed saying "log-in for shipping costs" but currently the shipping costs associated with each zone are very different and can provide a nasty shock for customers when they check-in (and then abandon basket) It does seem to me that this is a problem many people must have encountered. I've trawled the forums but not found quite what I'm after. v1.6 Any advice greatly appreciated. Mike
  2. Hey El Patron, Does this mean as long as I want to keep the pricing of my products the same (which I do) I don't need a multi-store anymore? If I can automatically change currency, language via browser, will that also change the shipping zone? My problem in previous versions of PS was getting a visitor from the usa seeing shipping prices for the default shop (uk). They would then get a nasty shock on check out. I'd really like to ditch multi-store if possible, please tell me it's so :-)) Thanks Mike
  3. I have been round the houses on this one but finally got to the bottom of it. However I'm still hundreds of pounds out of pocket to prestashop who won't refund the module. However the 3rd party module I bought that required SSL and was quite frankly not up to scratch, did eventually refund me, but only after a Paypal developer told them to!! I'm in the UK but I have to say Paypal were exemplary in helping me through this 10 out of 10. If you can contact these guys do so. Leonard Rafferty [email protected] or Joe Fitzgerald [email protected]. They've just been through exactly the same thing with me so I'm guessing they will want to have words with Prestashop when the complaints starts flowing in. Prestashop have certainly got my back up. M
  4. yes I agree I'm not happy with Prestashop. I signed up to Paypal pro bought the Prestashop module (very expensive) plus am now paying £20 pcm to paypal for the pro service. Only to find the prestashop pro module doesn't accommodate the Paypal Pro hosted solution that I need as I am a small trader and not PCI registered or compliant. So after talking to Paypal (who have been very helpful) I now bought a 3rd party module (again over $200) and I can't get that working either. Prestashop will not answer my emails asking for a refund to a product that didn't tell me it was not a solution for the Paypal hosted solution. And neither module includes express checkout. All in all It's a right shambles and I'm hundreds of pounds worse off and still can't get my site live!!!! If prestashop hadn't sneakily hidden the free paypal module I was using on my old site none of this would have happened. Unfortunately I'm stuck with prestashop otherwise I'd have jumped ship over this.
  5. ha ha yes fun that's the word. Thanks for the advice it's certainly sound. Because I'm using multi-sore with 3 currencies you can see why I'm nervous. I am lucky in one sense though, that my server provider backs up the entire site and data every evening so if it did all go tits up I do have a undo button, but what I really need is a seamless transition without too much down time. I've asked prestashop why they think it's not happening but am pretty much resigned to a manual upgrade. Will look into installatron, not heard of it before thanks! Mike
  6. Hi I'm unable to use the auto upgrade module (have the latest version of module) which won't find anything above my current version of prestashop v1.5.6.2 - just says I'm up to date and using the latest version of prestashop) I am very nervous about a manual upgrade. The shop is busy at the moment and I don't want any mistakes. Also need to integrate backend with developers using linnworks software who say I need to upgrade to latest v1.6 before they can do their work. I always want to be using the latest version but need some help? Any advice on best way to go to upgrade greatly appreciated? Thanks Mike
  7. Thanks El Patron. TBO it's a bit over my head all the domains stuff. It's already been a steep learning curve being the first PS site I've created. I'm just going to have a splash page and let people choose where they are from. Just a quick question though. If I had a site registered at www.domian.eu and my main site was www.domain.com. If someone from Europe typed www.domain.com directly into a browser, which site would they end up at the .com or the .eu?
  8. Hi El Patron, Oddly enough I'm not too bothered about languages or search engines but the real drive for me was to be able to display the correct shipping costs in the basket of a guest (before going through the registration process). So if someone from the States visits the site (which is based in the UK) they won't be in for a nasty surprise when the guest basket says shipping is £5 then after they get to the checkout it says £18. So I've made 3 shops each with different shipping zones associated to them. I could have a splash page where the user clicks on their flag to go to the correct store, but a re-direct will save a process and be a bit slicker. Am I missing a trick or can the Geolocation function in PS do this without the need for a module?
  9. thanks El Patron. I was thinking I'd have to duplicate the shop (and not looking forward to it) but if it's reletively simple using MultiStore that's ok. Will I have to buy the 4 new domain names to use multistore or can I do it using the same domain and re-direct to each sub version of the shop from a landing/detect page?
  10. thanks for the quick resonse El Patron. I'm using 1.5.4.1 Ultimately I want to display the correct shipping costs in the basket for a visitor on entering the site. So a US customer will see the shipping costs from the UK to the US (and not the cost of shipping locally within the UK as it currently does). So if there's an module that can do that or a work-around I'm all ears ;0)
  11. Hi I'm looking for a similar decetion system but one that will allow a guest (not registered) to see the shipping costs for their country/shipping zone. I have 4 zones (UK,Europe,North America,Rest of the World). Each has different shipping costs. Currently the default language is UK so if someone browsing from the US goes to place an order they will be in for a nasty shock on checkout as the shipping costs displayed in the basket are not the same as on checkout! I'm trying to find an addon that can handle this and am surised I can't find one? Any help greatly appreciated. My shop sells novelties so would prefer to allow guests to purchase without registering. Thanks Mike
  12. Hi Vekia, Bit embarrasing as I was changing .../modules/blockstore/blockstore.tpl and not .../themes/default/modules/blockstore/blockstore.tpl Sorry for being an ass, but thanks for answering so quickly. All working correctly now.
