  1. Thank you El Patron, bellini13 and Simonas Invertus. This is the information I needed. There is no 'simple way', there is just some plain old handwork to do! Thanks! Freek
  2. Hello everyone, I have a general question about upgrading Prestashop, to which the answer is probably simple, but I just cant find it. Any help much appreciated!! Here it goes: I would like to upgrade my live shop from 1.6.0.9 to 1.6.1.2. After a 'test' upgrade I figured out that it will probably take me a week to fix small errors and finetune the upgraded site. When (after +/- a week) going live with the upgraded site, how do I import/arrange for a completely updated database, considering I will have been receiving orders in the meantime in the 'old' live site. Connecting the new, upgraded site to the 'old', live database, is probabvly not the right way. But what is the right way?? Please understand that I know my way well around prestashop, but Im no technician/programmer. Thanks to everyone in advance!! Best regards Freek
  3. Hello everyone, Since suddenly (cant think of anything I have changed or altered) the back office of my PS 1.5.3.1 installation looks scrambled/messed up (zie jpg). Any had any idea what could be going on here? My front office (seems) working flawlessly. Many thanks in advance for any advice! Freek
  4. Basically yes. However, in PS 1.4.6.2 I tackled this problem with a free module called: StiffCarrierCateg by Stiff.fr. Worked flawlessly. It lets you assign Carriers to categories of Carriers and to restrict the choice of a Carrier for a product to certain categories of Carriers. The makers of this module have stated to release a new PS 1.5.x version of the module, but there is no deadline or schedule (to my knowledge) whatsoever. If a paid version of a module with the above functionality would be available, I would be interested, because it tackles the whole problem! Also, if this issue could be handled within PS 1.5.2 I would be very happy, but I dont think that is possible. Any suggestions/tips welcome!!
  5. I'm sorry, you're right: Carrier X is not assigned to Product B. My mistake. But the problem stays the same. If there are no Products B (only Products A), Carrier Y should not be offered. Products A are small and go by envelop (Carrier X). Products B are larger and go by parcel (Carrier Y). When only an envelop Product (A) is selected, the parcel Carrier (Y) should not be offered. Differentating by weight does not work because both Products A and B may have the same weight (ranges). Hope this makes the issue more clear!
  6. Hello Newbie Too, Have you tried setting a default carrier that is valid to deliver to ALL the countries that you deliver to? However I did not doublecheck (reproduce) it, I'm pretty sure that did the trick for me on 1.5.1. to get rid of that "..There are no carriers ..." message...
  7. Hello everyone, Well I'm not sure exactly how, but I did solve it myself. My default language is Dutch, so I disabled English, coz I dont need it. After re-enabling English under the Language TAB (but keeping Dutch the default language), the Dutch FO translations worked again. So for now: solved!
  8. Hello Everyone, Anyone out there that can help me with a probably small, but for me big problem..? Im trying to (locally, WAMP) translate the Block Wishlist in Dutch in PS 1.5.1. using the standard theme. All goes fine except for the FO. The block header (WISHLISTS) and the text in the block (My wishlists) just won't translate. I read all the posts, but cant find my solution. Dont want to 'just replace all the 'wishlist' expressions in .tpl files by the Dutch translations, coz that messes things up. I know I probably have to just translate a view expressions, not all. But which ones..? Any help appreciated, thanx in advance! Freek
  9. Not to my knowledge. However, if you work your way thru the BO setting the module up, you are fine, because in the FO there are no expressions or what so ever. I've had no answer from them yet if the module will become available for PS 1.5 up. Which, if not, would be a pity as it complements the PS shipping functions perfectly and works great.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm a happy PS user for 2 years now, just every now and then I stumble on an issue and I just dont know how to see light at the end of the tunnel.... :-) The issue regards Carriers and how the are offered during Checkout Process: “How can I restrict the (types of) Carriers offered in Check Out to ONLY those (types of) Carriers that are highest in rank for the actual (types of) Products in the cart AND are able to deliver ALL the different (types of) Products in the cart” ? The reason is that I sell different types of products that require different types of carriers. Setting this up in PS 1.5.1 is not difficult, actually quite easy. However, the behavior of the Checkout Process (which carriers it shows to the customer to choose from based on the products in it) is not logic. Example: I have products of type A and type B. I have carriers of type X and type Y. Product A requires Carrier X. Product B requires Carrier Y. Carrier Y can also deliver Product A. But Carrier X can NOT deliver product B. thus: If the customer puts Product A and B in the cart, ONLY Carrier Y must be offered to the customer, which is the Carrier that can deliver both type of products A and B. To arrange this in PS 1.5.1 both the Carriers X and Y must be assigned to the Products A and B under the BO > Catalog > Products > Shipping tab. However, the unfortunate consequence of this is that BOTH the Carriers X and Y will also be offered to the customer that ONLY puts Product A in his cart. Which I dont want. In PS versions 1.4.x I managed this issue with the help of the free module StiffCarrierCateg. Worked flawlessly. However, I can not find an update for this module for PS 1.5.1 (already asked for it!). I had hoped this issue would have been taken care of in PS 1.5 since the possibility is now offered to assign a Carrier to a Product in BO (see above). Anyone has a clue how to manage this? I can hardly imagine that I’m the only one trying to find a solution for this. Many thanx in advance for ideas and suggestions!!
  11. Hi TGB_Beer Have you considered the free module StiffCarrierCateg ? My hunch is that this module might help you out. Works flawlessly for me under PS 1.4.6.2 but apparently there are later versions (http://store.stiff.fr/lang-en/module-stiffcarriercateg/57-stiffcarriercateg-v1611.html). It lets you assign carriers to categories of carriers and restrict the choice of carrier for a specific product for the customer to the carriers that belong to the category. I've not been able to find an upgrade for the module for PS 1.5.1 by the way, which I need myself desperately... :-(
  12. Well, after 16 hours of searching, I can still hardly believe it, but it did indeed seem a cache problem... Difficult to believe coz I securely and regularly emptied the TOOLS/SMARTY/COMPILE and TOOLS/SMARTY/CACHE folders, changed [forced compiling] from YES to NO and back (in BackOffice-PREFERENCES-PERFORMANCE), but none of that solved the problem.. After your quick reply, I installed CCleaner (by Piriform) on both my machines (1 WINXP and 1 WIN7), cleaned the cache and..... viola.. there was - on both different machines - my Homepage (the one that was online at my hosting provider that is..!) So, thanks again for quick reply!!
  13. Well, thanx for quick response, if its only cache , it would save me lots of trouble, I'll try reproduce it and let you know..!
