  1. Hi Guys, After reading your posts regarding promotions I couldn't help but share with you what I have been reading about this week. We all know that for us to get sales we need the world to know about our shops. we also all know that face book is masive and with it, its possible to meet hundreds of people in a short time. so its a brillient place to start your marketing but the question is.... How do I bring the facebook community to my store? well my answer to that questions is actually another question...... HOW DO I BRING MY STORE TO THE FACE BOOK COMMUNITY???? The answers is in a link that I will provide at the bottom of this post. But unfortunately its not currently available in Prestashop. I have been talking with a third party developer of PS modules about having something like that. Please express you interest after you listen to the podcast. My idea is that we can all sponsor this developer to provide this excellent opportunity for us to take advantage of the evergrowing community of FACEBOOK! http://www.practicalecommerce.com/articles/1855-Guitar-Retailer-Offers-Inventory-on-Facebook
  2. Hi, I have been trying to find the location of the file but no luck and ideas?
  3. I contacted 1and1 on two occasions with the hope to have this issue resolved but not yet resolved. The support person I spoke with told me that I had to upgrade a dedicated server to have a small online shop with less than 100 items. All product images and thumbs where fine untill I clicked on regenerate thumbnail, it stopped after a few seconds with error 500. www.dominogirl.co.uk
  4. Humm it sounds like the kinda module that I need too. Please let us know if anyone finds a solution that works. Thanks to all of you!
  5. Yes I did the rebuild then I refreshed the front-end then performed another search but the result was not right.
  6. Hi Rocky, Thanks for your reply. I did try that before but had no luck.
  7. Hi Rocky, judging by your answers to various questions regarding the search function in PS, I believe you can help me with a request from a client of mine. They sell mobile phones with accessories such as bluetooth. Currently when a search query is made for example Nokia 6303 or just 6303 the result is good but it also returns bluetooth headset or any item that has nokia 6303 somewhere in the description regardless of what categoty that item resides in. my client has requested that we have the search function modified so that it only query the item names in the database so the returning result will show only the item with the searched keyword in its name. the other example search we performed was "bluetooth", "bluetooth headset" but we got a bunch of phones in the result. can you please help? we can donate or if you prefer we can dicuss feesl. PS version 1.2.5.0 http://egobas.co.uk/FM/ cheers, Dee
  8. Cheers Scott, That is easy enough! Please let me know when you are able to come up with a solution for the Category sort order. Cheers!
  9. Scott you are the man, thank you very much!!! I have couple of question..... 1. Can you instruct me on how to add it to my copy of PS 1.2 so that the modification that you have made will be available on all my future installs? this way I will not have to do db modification as per your instruction? 2. At the moment I am having to place 1. , 2. , 3. and so on when I am creating product Categories. Will it be possible for you to create similar to what you have done for the CMS so that I can just Add the Categories and later sort them out as per the new CMS sort hack that you have created? Thanks again!
  10. I do appreciate that PS is a cart system and not a dedicated CMS but the CMS is ten times better that the one in MAGENTO!!! couldn't any one of the PS gurus give us the ability to sort the order of the CMS links like they have done for the module positioning? The Category can do with this too! I am quite surprise that this was not done in the latest update of PS???
  11. The search functionality has already been fixed in version 1.2. You need to build the search-index to get it to work. //PJ Hi, How do you build the search index please? I am a newby!
