I have a very similar problem: I configure my smtp settings, then I hit the save button and the page tells me I succesfully changed my settings BUT the password field is now empty (all the others are just fine). I try sending the test email but I never get pass the spinning wheel. Not a single failure/success message, nor I get the test email. I've been using the php config but it's also useless as the messages take waaaay too long to arrive, 60-90 minutes. It's been driving me crazy! Can anyone help us?
