  1. Why is PHP 8 support so late? My host has just announced that it will update PHP to 8.1 in October and remove PHP 7.4 one month later. Currently, there is no stable version of prestashop that is compatible with PHP 8.1, so what are we to do? I feel Prestashop have really dropped the ball on this occasion.
  2. I am looking for a UK based developer to take over the maintenance and support, etc of my clients' prestashop websites. I am concentrating my efforts elsewhere and don't have the time to continue to offer any support for prestashop websites that I have installed, etc. To be fair, my clients don't often contact me for support or updates, etc but when they do, I need to know that there is someone who can handle their requests competently and in a friendly and approachable manner, with transparent pricing. Ideally, they would contact the chosen developer directly whenever they need any work done on their prestashop stores. You would bill them directly. Some of these have been clients of mine for many years (and will remain my clients for non-prestashop work), so I need to know that they are in good hands! I would provide all information on the individual stores, add-ons and any custom changes. I would also be available to answer any queries you may have after the 'hand over'. If you are interested, please provide samples of your work via private message, your level of experience and how your pricing works. They would not be looking for any monthly subscriptions. Thank you so much!
  3. Can you confirm please what this module does? I see that it find and remove infected files, but does it make changes so that the site cannot be attacked again? i.e. of my site has not been affected, will running this module prevent an attack in the future and resolve the security issue?
  4. May have spoken too soon! After initially being able to log into the back office, I went to General settings and now get a 500 error on all admin pages. Debug says: Attempted to call function "curl_init" from namespace "PrestaShop\Module\Ps_metrics\Presenter\Store\Context". 😭
  5. Well, with the shop set up on php 7.3 on my test server I decided to try the 1-click update again..... and it worked! Yay! Wish I had just tried that again first time round rather than assuming it was a lost cause.
  6. Hey, so I enabled the intl extension, reinstated the backed-up 1.7.7.3 database and now get this on running upgrade.php This page contains the following errors: error on line 215 at column 1: Extra content at the end of the document Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error. I can't copy and paste the rest so have attached a screenshot. The same error I got before, so nothing to do with PHP version! 😢 😢 😢 😢 losing the will....
  7. OK, so latest in my last attempt to upgrade this rather start with a fresh install, I set upi on my local test server with php7.3 and got a 500 error on running upgrade.php, with this in the error log: [Fri Dec 17 14:17:26.694681 2021] [php7:error] [pid 15928:tid 2100] [client ::1:50813] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Symfony\\Component\\Intl\\Exception\\MethodNotImplementedException: The Symfony\\Component\\Intl\\Locale\\Locale::setDefault() is not implemented. 8. Ok, so I want to update Prestashop so I downloaded it to my local test server. However, I can access the front end, but get a 403 on the admin. The error log shows a rewrite error but rewriting is disabled and I have deleted the htaccess. Error log says: [rewrite:error] [pid 17140:tid 2156] [client ::1:62979] AH00670: Options FollowSymLinks and SymLinksIfOwnerMatch are both off, so the RewriteRule directive is also forbidden due to its similar ability to circumvent directory restrictions : C:/UniServerZ/www/localhost/admin-xxxx/ - I disabled cache and deleted all files in var/cache - changed domain in ps_configuration table under ps_shop_domain and SSL domain and did the same in ps_shop_url table - disabled rewriting via database under ps_rewriting_settings, setting to 0 - updated database settings in parameters.php Any ideas what is wrong?
  9. I am dreading it, but this may be the only way that I will get peace of mind that everything is as it should be!
  10. I agree - Prestashop really need to sort out these issue with upgrading! It is not good enough to release new versions for security fixes and latest php versions but at the same time have such a flawed upgrade process.
  11. OK, so does anyone have any idea how I can get this upgrade to run properly? Someone suggested I downgrade to php 7.3 for the upgrade and then change back to 7.4 afterwards as 1.7.7.3 is not compatible with 7.4. I need to get this to work, so suggestions are more helpful, than "don't bother upgrading". I just don't understand why upgrading Prestashop always has to be so painful! Totally different message from Wordpress where upgrading is generally a breeze!
