  1. Very nice. Well done. Thank you for sharing with the community
  2. Hmm so what you propose to do is take an open source and free software, disguise it as you own (I assume by doing nothing apart from removing all reference to prestashop) and then sell it on!!!! Never mind what the OSL says just how many morals would this break in your mind? These guys work their socks off to provide such a good software for you to come round and sell it on without really doing much with it!
  3. My appologies if I offended you with my assumptions regarding domain names and hosting. PS is a complete e-commerce solution. You upload the files and install and you will have a fully functioning store. Have a look at the demo. That is a basic install and that is exactly how your site will look. Further modifications are down to you and that is where this community comes into play. There are many many themes and additional modules that make your site different from the basic.
  4. Yeah you will definitely need hosting. You will initially need a domain name (e.g. www.somthing.com) but if you go to any hosting company most will register this for you. Is there anybody that you can get to help you with this with a little knowledge? Im not saying you will be unable to do it (its not rocket science) but it could get a little confusing. Is your friend quite familiar with e-commerce or even Internet in general?
  5. After approx 10 - 20 successful installs myself along with the hundreds if not thousands of all the community members put together then it is blatantly not a re-curring problem. I have seen quite a few people with this problem and most have used godaddy as hosts. I dont know if that is a common denomanator here or if there is somthing else. Alll I can tell you is that I have just re-downloaded the current package and installed it to a sub-directory as a "test" and it works perfectly. So no I do not have a straight answer so outta luck with that payment but the error you refer to does not happen to everyone so maybe there is another issue here that does not lay with PS?
  6. No problem. Is there anything in particular you are thinking about doing? The forum is a fab place to ask them awkward questions though if you do get stuck.
  7. Hmm nice rant. Not sure I am understanding what the problem was though. You couldnt install past step 3 is it? The link is broken BTW (double dot at the end). You could always use Magento if you feel that will be easier but I assure you it wont ;-)
  8. Oh and no there is nothing I have ever experienced where things have messed up. All has gone 100% to plan when I have done it :-)
  9. honestly it couldnt be easier. All you need to do is:- 1. Log into your BO 2. Go to Preferences 3. The very first option displayed is "PS directory:" yours will probably be "ps2/prestashop" 4. removed everything except for a forward slash. 5. Save 6. Via FTP move all the files and folders to root. Bish Bang you are done. I have done this many times with no issues. Enjoy.
  10. have you searched the forum, had a look at the wiki's and even searched google? You will be surprised how much info there is out there
  11. That is a joint thing that you need to do. 1. You need to create a new contact in BO --> Employees --> Contacts 2. You need to go to BO --> Preferences --> Contact and tell it what e-mail address to use
  12. Hi ya, Thanks for your reply. I am using 1.1 and it is the customize products bit of any product when configured. I am not going to post my URL as last time I did this I had some idiot creating loads of accounts and basically taking the p*ss. Ill PM you it if you are still no sure. All I want to do though is make the box as you can see above bigger maybe double the size across and treble the size down. Ta, Stu
  13. Hmm I like the idea for the module. I really dont understand why somebody would like a rug for xmas tho! haha Dunno about you.
  14. LMAO. Funny guys! I thought the demo resets itself every two hours? Is that not working anymore or something?
