Bizkick theme

Dear,

I'am adapting the the free theme of bizkick. its a very nice theme but i have one little problem.

I want to change the A color, but this line of code is in the theme.css.
When i change online the hexcode of the color and put it back on the ftp my site does strange things

When i put the code in the custom.css nothing changes, what am i doing wrong ?
