Setting up a shop duplicate.

Hello,

Im running a shop with certain products and now i need to create its clone on the same server with same products but with slightly different settings and maybe additional modules.

What is the best way to have 2 shops where products are the same and when you add a product to first shop its automatically appears on the clone shop?

I know that i can connect both shops to the same Database, but in this case will the settings change in backoffice of one shop affect the clone shop? If I add a product should I manually upload pictures to a product on a clone shop img folder?
