I've added a H! selector in global.css identical to the existent H2, and changed accordingly the H@ with H1 in product.tpl and category.tpl; problem is that it messes the display of the header logo too. What else do I need to change/add in global.css ?

SOLVED : found out, added a H2#logo selector identical to H1#logo in global.css and changed it in header.tpl too.
Now let's see if the H1 has any SEO impact on google.

WRONG : false hope, still the same problem, it must have been the provider cache; issue still remains. Ideas ?
