How to remove email field in sign-up area

Hi,

we want to remove the mandatory email field from the sign up area so that only appears the "create new account" button and the user gets then to the register form. 

We use 1.6.1. version. 

Anyone who knows how to solve it?

Hello,

You can edit the tpl for register but then you will have to modify the AuthController aswell, so it stores the new field that you want, I can guess it will be a "username".

It's not only the register system that you will have to modify, also the log-in system and the database insertion.

It might come with a lot of problems, because a most part of back-office functionality is linked to the customer e-mail.

Is it really necessary? If so, you might need a developer to modify everything.
