how to interpret "size, weight and group access" from carriers item menu

Hi,
the measures that can be managed are not clear for me.
does the system create the amount of the sides?
or are the limits for each side?
If the second I think is unclear.
How can Prestashop understand how packs will be made?

Example:
One of our courier,
has a limit of 150 cm, this limit is the amount of the 3 sides.
This does not mean that each side must be 50 + 50 + 50 cm
but it can be 100 + 10 + 40cm

I did some tests and it seems that Prestashop does not handle the amount of the three sides but exactly the length of each ones.

I think it works as the following:

When you have a product and you add measurement of the product like for example:
150 cm width
100 cm height
20 cm depth

Prestashop just compare each side to determine if the maximum size is reached. It does not count up the sides to see if the total length is bigger than the max length.
So when your product is for example:
151 cm width
50 cm height
10 cm depth
Prestashop will not allow it since the width is > 150 cm.

You're right and I think it works just like you described.
Unfortunately this does not make much sense for us.
For example the amount of the sides, so, if the cart exceeds, does not allow the courier, who has these limits, to appear in the shipping step of the cart
I believe that we need a customization.
