Migration to Prestashop 1.6.1.23

Hello everyone,

I have a prestashop 1.6.1.6 store and i wish to migrate to the latest version of prestashop 1.6.1.23 is it possible???

And what are the problems that I can face?

How should I do it exactly manually or automaticly ?

Hello Sara,

The 1 click upgrade is the way to go for web-store owners who have basic knowledge of PHP, MYSQL, ...
The 1 click upgrade has a fail-safe system which makes it pretty safe to use. however making a backup of your files and MYSQL workbench is required.

The manual upgrade is something the more experience user can try, but here is a backup of your files, ... advised.

Further more there will be always some minor issues to resolve. If your site needs to be active again in a short period of time it's advised to hire an experienced coder.
When upgrading the shop on your own you can always post your error's here so the community can help you out.

make a copy of your shop, perform upgrade there first.

What you need to remember is that your contact form may stop working, cause there were additional security measures added in 1.6.1.18 and it also requires changes in contact-form.tpl file.

Yes you can, if you make a backup during the upgrade.

Hi Daresh.

Would you be able to point to what changes are required to the contact-form.tpl?

I'm running a 1.6.1.9 which I cloned and upgraded to 1.6.1.23.

The contact form works fine on 1.6.1.9, but after the upgrade to 1.6.1.23 the contact form stops working - no errors. Customers do not receive any notifications.

Any help would be much appriciated 🙂

It seems these changes has already been made, also to the contact-form.tpl

You wouldn't happen to know of other issues in this regard?

If you work on the default template than yes, those changes will come with the update. No other issues should occur.
