how to translate the VAT address field

Hi! I'm trying to translate the VAT field, unsuccessfully. Basically I've edited ShopFormLables.xlf, by placing the following:
 

      <trans-unit id="7cb32e708d6b961d476baced73d362bb" approved="yes">
        <source>VAT number</source>
        <target xml:lang="es-ES" state="translated">DNI/NIE</target>
        <note>Context:
File: classes/form/CustomerAddressFormatter.php:214</note>
      </trans-unit>

replacing the xlf file under app/Resources/translations/es-ES/ShopFormLabels.xml, emptying the cache from the back office and trying to reload the page where the field appears. Nothing changed though, as you can see from the image attacched. Any hint?

Which version are you using? Have you tried to use the translations in the back office? I find the term "VAT number" in the translations at Shop.Forms.Label

Hi, I know the answer's a little late, but I think the problem you are facing is that the translation file should be:

[prestawebroot]/app/Resources/translations/es-ES/ShopFormsLabels.es-ES.xlf 

At least that's what worked for me on 1.7.3
