Stock available reduces when add to cart

good day, i have just installed the latest version of prestashop,  i would like to know if this is a standard feature of prestashop 1.7.4.4

if i have an item that shows eg: 10 items in stock, as soon as i add it to cart, it will automatically reduce the available qty to 9
shouldnt it still show 10 items in stock, and only once i checkout it should change the qty available to 9

can this feature be turned off, or is this a standard function

No Prestashop default doesn't provide the reduce qty when add to cart or product in cart.if you need that then develop custom development.

Hello:

Adding a product to the cart is not the same that buy it. Only after an order is confirm stock is reduce. It works exactly as a real life store. Imagine that someone add all your product stock to his cart buy never confirm. In that case you will be out of stock with no real orders

i am agree with  Rolige.

that is not good idea when reduce the  qty when add to cart. store owner totally loss his product qty if someone add all product qty in cart and not confirm the order.

The OP didn't request for such a feature but rather asked how to avoid/disable it. I have that issue on 1.7 - it is already there and I would like to switch it off.
