How important is to use dedicated landing pages for advertisement compared to just link to a category or a specific product ?

I see that Woorank point that out as an improvement.

Anyone with experience ?

If the goal of your landing page is to drive people towards conversion on this particular page, such as submitting their information through a form or clicking on a high-value call-to-action button, then your number one job is tracking that engagement on the page itself. Remember that Google Analytics only measures page load by default.
Reasons you need a landing page:
1. Easily Generate Leads!
2. Give Your Offers a Place to Live

3.Collect Demographic Information About Your Prospects
4. Understand Which Prospects Are More Engaged

5. Provide Fuel for Other Marketing Channels
6. Offer Insights Into the Effectiveness of Your Marketing Offers
