OC2PS Posted February 22, 2011 Share Posted February 22, 2011 I tried the Prestacart showcase frontend, and one thing that struck me was that the checkout process could be better.I have 2 suggestions:1. Don't ask the customer to register...either he logs in or starts the checkout...if he doesn't log in, then take through the checkout process and at the very end ask if he wants to create a password so that he can track orders etc. A lot of carts are abandoned at the login or register step and this can totally be avoided by using this method which doesn not require registration, at least psychologically.http://www.uie.com/articles/three_hund_million_button/2. The second suggestion is more cosmetic. Firstly, kudos to the PS team for making it clear to the customers the steps in checkout and where they are at each step. This transparency is VERY important. Guest checkout also has the ability to track their order & convert to a full account at any time. Admin side can also convert guest to registered customer as well.
