Module to include youtube, vimeo and other videos in products with the embed code

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I needed this and i just created a simple module to include a tab in the product page and show as many videos as you want!

Check it and use it, andy problem let me know! When version 1.4 is stable the video management will be done in the product administration so it will make more sense, to do it like that now i'd have to touch core files wich i dont want to!!

Module for prestashop 1.3.6
Download the module here: http://www.easytienda.com/prestamodules/blockproductvideos.rar

Module for prestashop 1.4.2.5
Download the module here: http://www.easytienda.com/prestamodules/productvideos14.zip

I don't know which code to add.
When i choose embed and paste this code:

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/34Ytf9p5WO4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The module doesn't work.

hi pstool!

My stores are running all the stable version 1.3.6, I didnt check it on 1.4 I will update it when the release becomes stable, sorry for that, but there are important changes in the 1.4 that would affect the code and keeping two versions is too much work!

hi enjoythemagic!

to change it's position you would have to change two files in the module:

in blockproductvideos.tpl:

{if $videos}

   {foreach from=$videos item=v}
       {$v.content|escape:'quotes':'UTF-8'}

   {/foreach}

{/if}

in tab.tpl:

{if $nbVideos > 0}
{l s='Videos' mod='blockproductvideos'} ({$nbVideos})
{/if}

The id="idTab6" is used to set it's position on the hook, maybe you can change it to idTab2 and see if it works...

Hi,

That's a great module and finally someone who offer it for free, thank you !

Just one question, is it suitable for oldest version of Prestashop (1.2.2 for example?)

Thanks in advance for your time to respond

hi there!

I'm not sure if is it suitable for other versions rather than 1.3.6, you could try and see what happens, there is no risk as the plugin doesnt touch any core table or file.

Now that 1.4 is released I'll update our shop and work on it more to make it a bit better!

bye!

<iframe title=“YouTube video player” width=“640” height=“510” src=“http://www.youtube.com/embed/34Ytf9p5WO4?rel=0” frameborder=“0” allowfullscreen></iframe>

and click save, it takes me back to the modules page, and then when i go back to configure , the code is gone? iv also noticed that it doesnt display the "video's" tab either...

It works great, but after adding one film to the product on the list should be one item not 6.
At 1000 rise to a large list of products:)

Thanks so much.

Can you move the video setting to each product editing? Like a new tab : 6. Customization 7. Attachments (0) 8.Video

I have a shop in two languages English and Polish.
How to add a video to the two versions? There is no switch of language.

Hi Dambie and Dato,

You are right, I thought of it yesterday!! Right now you could only link a video to a product without a language choice!!

I did this plugin for my site (spanish only) as I needed to include videos in products!

I think the plugin can be improved a lot:
Multilanguage
Video uploading
Video tab on product editing
Video screenshots on listings
Ordering the videos in the product view

I will try to modify it soon so that a video can be posted to each language

Hi there,

I am please to say that the 1.3.6 download does actually work on version Version 1.3.5.0 nicely.

However it does create three items/lines for each video added per product.

I did read that someone also had this happening with 6 lines per video.

I disabled two other languages so I only have one default language but it is still adding 3 lines per video?

any advice please?

I'm so disappointed it does not work on 1.3.2 :(

Something easy to fix to get it work ? Did I do something wrong, nothing appears ?

Thanks

Great module Santi!

I installed it but when I add a video to the list it doesn't show up on the list.

The video is visible on the front office product page.

Now I can't delete a video from the FO.

Do you have plans to embed this to the product page??

Working on 1.4.9.0,

1 Error on module configuration page

Change productvideos.php line 221:

<a href="'.$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'].'&id='.$video['id'].'"><img src="../img/admin/delete.gif" alt="" title="" onclick="linkDeletion('.$link['id'].')" style="cursor: pointer" />

to

<a href="'.$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'].'&id='.$video['id'].'"><img src="../img/admin/delete.gif" alt="" title="" onclick="linkDeletion('.$video['id'].')" style="cursor: pointer" />

I can also confirm it works on 1.4.9.

It worked prior to this fix and still works with this fix.
