I got a problem and do not know how to fix. My cart does not add shipping costs and keep showing "free shipping".

Tried it all and all configurations. Now they are as:

I got a web cafedelospueblos.com in Spain with a major carrier Correos. Dowloaded their module. Followed their instructions to set their module. Set Spain under Europe zone. Created 4 zones according to their instructions and put each province in the respective zone I created, and under Spain as a country.

I am charging my clients what correos charges me. Prices are based on the zones and by kilo, increasing by each kilo. So, if my client order up to 1 kilo, cost is X. If client orders from 1kg to 2kg, price is Y, if client orders 2kg to 3kg, cost is Z.

I set a weight for each product  (under products / shipping / packet dimension). And because I have combinations for each product ( combinations are: 200gr / 400gr 900gr), I set impact on weight for each combination.  So, if someone order 3 products of 400gr, it will reach the 1kg to 2kg price range using the impact.

My shipping preferences are set as:

  • free shipping starts at euro 1.000.000 and 10.000kgs (even if I put 0 for both, the system does not compute shipping at cart, continues showing "free shipping")
  • default carrier set by price (I only have correos as carrier)
  • Sort by price
  • Order by ascending

My carriers are select, (the premium correos and the standar correos under shipping / carriers) and configured properly by ranges as of:

  • no handling charges
  • no free shipping
  • billing according to total weight
  • out of range behavior disable carrier
  • all client groups are selected

I guess i got nothing else to do. Am I missing something?

One wired behavior happened: when by accident i set Spain under one of the zones I created, the cart added shipping costs, but only one range, not more ranges if I added over 1kg order. Besides, if I continue checking out my order, right before payment it says: "There is no carrier available for order" (and I have the carrier selected). So, all messed up.

Anybody can give me a light?

Hola,

Es muy simple, tu direccion es de España, en tus paises se ve que España esta asociado a la zona de Europa y si observas en las zonas del transportista, Europa no esta activo ;)

Saludos

Hey Roliger, you are right, Europe is not selected. And that is because I do not sell in Europe, but in Spain only. That's  why i do not have set up the price ranges for Europe.

I have set Spain under Europe zone by request of my Courrier.

I had same or similar problem and just figured it out. You have to select carriers, choose the carrier you want to edit which is going to be all of them one at a time and look for out of range behavior and select disable carrier. Mine was defaulted to apply the cost of the highest defined range and it would say free shipping if it was out of range.

For example priority mail only goes up to 25lbs so if someone was buying something 24lbs it worked perfect, if they purchased a 30lbs item it would go to free shipping automatically. Hopefully this helps someone!
