Template change

Hi
I currently have a prestashop site ( v.1.6.0.5) and a brand new teplate that is v.1.6.1.1.
Is there a way to install the new theme..? do i have to update the already existed site and if yes can i updated it to 1.6.1.1 ?
Also does this change will have any effects at the website.? because we can't afford any mistakes and disabling the site is out of question.
Does this procedure has any effect at the database?

Hello,

Of course, all upgrades can have effects in your site, but this depend completely if you has touch the core files, modified directly the database or something like that, even you are using a module compatible with 1.6.0.5 and that is not compatible with 1.6.1.1 (but it is unlikely).

And about the theme, all time it is important to install themes that are 100% compatible with the PS version you are using, in your case, you can have better results by using the theme in a PS version 1.6.1.1 instead of 1.6.0.5
