Faceted Search - Sort by prices works poorly

Hello,

I am running the faceted search on my category pages and have noticed that searching by price works very strangely. The module appears to take the highest priced item and the lowest, and then arbitrarily determines the ranges in between and makes bizarre distinctions between the different price ranges. Instead of so many strangely defined price ranges, I would rather just have 5 or so price ranges the user can select from and have them be based off of round numbers, not these strange price ranges. How can this be done?
