I used to have a website with a comment section. I used Akismet for spam protection and never had problems.
So why can't Prestashop block spam from its forums? Don't they want to spend the little bit of money that it takes? Don't they want to invest a little time to implement some spam catching rules? (just blocking Chinese and Korean characters - except on the relevant forum - would go a long way). There are many companies specialized in this kind of problems. So this is really a case of Prestashop being stingy - penny wise, pount foolish.
