1.7.3 take for ever to update

Hello,

I started updating a site for a client from 1.7.2.4 to the new version, yesterday, at 11am.

The update for the files finished at 10pm with this message: All files have been updated. Updating the database ...

I left my computer running all night and, this morning, always the same message and nothing moved ..

Is this normal? I still have the little wheel that turns over the menu on the left.

Once you have problems of using the 1-click upgrade module to upgrade your site. Don't worry if you have a backup, you can just roll back, and then upgrade your site manually. 

Upgrading a site manually is way easy that it sounds like, here is a guide I wrote https://www.sunnytoo.com/6996/manually-upgrade-prestashop

The advantages are

(1) Don't need to disable any modules

(2) Don't need to switch back to the default theme, which would take you a lot of time to reconfigure your site after upgrading.
