Why is my Prestashop front and back-office still not secure after installing SSL certificate from name cheap?

I recently installed ssl certificate from namecheap but to my surprise it only secured my link to cpanel. Prestashop is still not secure. I contacted Name cheap and they said the certificate was installed correctly. They referred me to my host who later said I should get in touch with prestashop developers as from their end everything is ok. I tried to force redirect to https:// but its not working -  it redirects itself back to http:// . Again, the backoffice SSL option for all pages is rendered unclickable.

Probably you have an external resource with HTTP. Check console (Ctrl + Shift + J).

did you enable SSL in your Prestashop back office?

I was forced to purchase one click install and its now working.
