Categroy-wide discounts

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any solutions or modules that would allow discount or minimum order control over a whole category of products.

Examples:

- Discount applies when customer buys any 20 items or more from a specific category.

- Minimum order quantity of 10 items from a specific category.

I have searched far and wide for a solution that would allow this kind of control. I don’t mind at this stage if the solution is applied to code only (with no Back Office control), as it wont need to change very often.

The nearest thing I have found is the “Sales and discounts v2.0” module by Henri Baeyens Développement, but this only allows for percentage based category-wide discounts not quantity based.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

I’ve now also found this thread which describes another type of discount which maybe of use to someone. Whilst very clever, only really supports Buy 1 get 1 free type discounts and you may need to disable Ajax Cart. Keep checking this guys post in case something changes:
