Delete product from order fails (1.6.1.17)

I am unable to delete any product from an order. We are using the latest current version of PrestaShop. I followed the directions in the help document which state:

Removing products

To cancel a product, go to the product list, and either delete the product by clicking on the "Delete" action, or by clicking on the "Edit" action if all you need is to remove some quantity of a product.

Delete, are you sure?

After clicking OK the product does not get removed from the order.

I have the same problem. Any idea how to delete a product from the order?

I lived with the problem until the v1.6.1.18 update was available. It works if  you patch to this version... or at least for us it did.

Im also having this issue. but i have version 1.7.4.2? I am trying to do an exchange for a customer and this being messed up is really affecting it

Has anyone found a viable solution yet?
