Re-sort categories by best selling products

In my products listings in categories, I'd like the best sellers to be listed on top by default. I also want to tag the top few best sellers with a visible "best seller" tag. 

 

Perhaps sort all products in the category by sales numbers, or just take the best x number of products and move them to the top and tag them. Either way.

 

And this should be turned on or off on a per category basis.

 

The idea I have is it would use the existing sort order and modify it daily, not create a new sort type on the front end.

 

Can any module do this?

If you want to modify it daily, then sort it by position. If you want to be bestsellers at the top, then modifications are required and probably they will be required to the front end, not sure why it shouldn't be as additional option.

 

We have solution for this with both, blocklayered enabled and regular category listing (without filter). It is not a module, theme files should be modified and few overrides added. If you are interested, please, drop us an email.
