1.6 to 1.7 upgrade error

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I took a leap and decided to try the upgrade to 1.7 (I've taken a full backup, and have tried this upgrade a couple of times now). it is now getting a fair way though and failing on upgrading the database. I have tried going from 1.6.1.15 to both 1.7.1.1 and 1.7.2.0, using both the updated 1.7.1.1 one clickupdate module and the stock 1.6.1.15 module.

I keep getting stuck on this error:

"All files upgraded. Now upgrading database...
[Ajax / Server Error for action upgradeDb] textStatus: "error " errorThrown:"Internal Server Error " jqXHR: "
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at root@localhost to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

Anyone have any ideas? a lot of searching of this error for previous versions suggested an issue with the server config (zip specifically), but I'm not  sure if this is the case as the upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 went well.  I'm running my own VPS with Centos so I am able to play with the server config if need be.  If anyone else has attempted this upgrade I'd also be interested in hearing from you.

Interestingly on the front end and the backend I get the error: Error: "install" directory is missing

I'm going to revert to my backup and try again.

Cheers

I had / have problems upgrading too.

I now downloaded the lastest version of 1clickupgrade,   de-installed the version available in Prestashop,  reinstalled 1clickupdrage again   and now trying to upgrade from 1.6.1.15 to 1.7.1.1

Precious efforts the upgrade hung on disabeling the installed modules

Hope now  upgrading will continue  without errors

Up till now, everything goes well and system is now resuming .... fingers crossed

Upgrade message :

Database upgrade completed.

Disabling modules now..

Thanks for the replies guys,

Bellini, my Maximum execution time is 60,000, and no matter what I set it to it stops at the same space.

Racemaniac, I tried installing the latest 1click update, but I didn't try removing the old one first, i'll try this now. What I dd however notice was if I tried to upgrade to 1.7.1.1 with the latest version it would fail with the ajax error before it extracted the files, but If I uploaded 1.7.2.0 to the download folder it would upgrade everything but then fail at the database. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the module as you did and report back.

Ok, so I tried completly removing the old 1click upgrade module, and installed the new 1.7.1.1 upgrade module, this allowed it to download and proceed to install, however after about 10 minutes of running the database upgrade it failed with the same error again.as above max execution is set to 60,000.

  • 2 months later...

I had same problem with database upgrading.

I solved it like this:

download lastest version of prestashop 1.7.X.X

Upload the archive to your adminfolder/autoupgrade/download

delete regular 1 clickupgrade install this 1 click upgrade http://build.prestashop.com/news/updated-1-click-upgrade-module/

go in 1 click upgrade setting, set to not save files, disable non prestashop modules, switch to the new theme. save.

instead of choose from major versions choose install from local archive, select save

then select the archive

and follow steps.

Most probable it will pass the upgrading database and will get stuck again at disabling modules.

The only way i found to pass over this was to delete all modules but is not a convenant situation for me.

Anyone found another solution?
