Assign to different group based on URL query string

Hi, is it possible to assign customer to different group base on url, for example:

 

mywebsite.com/create-account -> will assign to customer default group (customer) 

mywebsite.com/create-account?group=vvip -> will assign to my custom group (VVIP)

It is possible by changing or overriding the core files for account creation. If you have done overrides already, you have a good chance to achieve this.

 

If it would be the first prestashop coding, it might get difficult however.
