Local copy from server

Hello,

 

I'm trying to install a local copy of my development server which is online.

I already installed a remote copy of this server, on a production server and everything went ok:

 

- I edited config file

- I created a new database and changed prestashop url

 

I did the exact same thing when I moved to local server (I'm using xampp) but for some reason it's not working:

 

- admin is ok - except it's not styled at all (looks like the css is not loaded, but for now that's not my main concern)

I'm able to log into the admin, I even regenerated the htaccess file in admin, thinking it was the problem but it didn't solve anything

 

- front end is not ok, it shows "error: too many redirect"

 

Is there something I missed ?

Can anyone help me with this please ?

 

I was trying to work locally because my development server has some caching issues, and when I try to debug online, my changes are not loaded immediately so I'm losing huge time. But I spent a few hours tryong to have this prestashop work locally... for nothing until now.

 - did you empty the cache?

 - localhost tends to miss caching software found on servers. Did you disable modules and settings that support such caching?

Hello,

 

Yes, I think I emptied the cache as I deleted /cache/class_index.php.

About Prestashop caching, I deactivated it in the admin.

So I really don't understand what's going on...

 

And also I'm surprised to see that nobody else ever had the same issue. 

It's very strange...
