Uploading picture files in Theme Configurator and other uploades changed name

New to this, Please help because I am stuck and do not know where to go from here. - Using 1.6.1.14 - clean installed.

 

Is it anybody else with same problem here -I cannot be alone, or?

 

When I upload a file named "banner-img8.jpg" in the Theme Configurator module under "Hook top" it ended up in the image file on the server with "fa9df56a75295b3bd7c74e576fb12c5ec3ef5e02_banner-img8.jpg" and a different permission than the others - see my attached screenshot.

 

Even worse when I uploaded top banner image using BannerBlock - than the complete name was changed to digits except for keeping the file (.png) type intact.

 

It works on the site but this is frustrating as I loose the control of all file names - anything I can do here to make the upload keep the right name?

 

All hints are welcome.
