I have this problem too on 1.7.1. However it's OK on my laptop but showing this error on my staff's laptop. Any ideas what could be the issue?

Solved: I tried switching off using big caracters in the Ubuntu Gnome screen.

I FOUND A WORK AROUND! YAY!

 

Edit this file in your prestashop folder: /admin/themes/new-theme/public/theme.css

Search for: #non-responsive

Delete only this text after the first #non-responsive:

 display:none;position:fixed;background:#363a41;width:100%;height:100%;

 

You may have to clear your browser cache to get the change
