I'm needing someone who knows Prestashop and it's various coding languages inside and out. I need the best of the best. Someone very experienced for immediate and on-going work. We have new round of certs coming up (now 1.7 cert only in French)... we just hired on two more employees (heroes), and expect in March to have a total of 4 cert dev...all young with families...that makes me happy. Happy to say I have the best PS team on the planet...period.... For affordable quote...and ongoing spectacular support (we use zoho proj manager)... go here we do thinks that you didn't know you didn't know, that 'real' transparency. Not what I was hoping to hear. Level Status (Gold, Silver, etc) should be based on Prestashop/Developer Skills (Tested) and Genuine Customer Feedback/Reviews. Of course, it's ok to charge some sort of licence/administrative fee, but the fee should be the same for everyone, and you shouldn't be able to pay for a Gold or Platinum Level.... The best can do things very quickly and if like us zero(0) fail rate then you actually save money. So IMHO hiring a highly qualified experienced individual or agency makes perfect the best business sense. As a service provider I see clients come in the door after 'bargain' or 'using non-qualified' resorcesd' and the work is just horrible and which signifcantly impacted their business. So hire someone with real street cred and not only will your project get done but on time an within budget but it will not have 'other' adverse affect to your busines. PrestaHeroes USA Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Actually I agree with you, I've been in this industry a long time and I also know from experience that as hourly rate increases, time to complete tasks falls even faster. So double the hourly rate can actually mean a task is done in less than half the time - depending on the task and generally speaking of course. So my point isn't that the overall cost will be higher (in fact it may well be lower). My point was just that the OP seems to have incredibly high requirements and should be prepared to go with a high hourly / daily rate. Great points and healthy discussion. In my world we only do flat rate work, hourly is for people that do not know how long it's going to take (they don't know what they are doing). and he fastest way to crush passion is to have team member log time against a task/ticket. Five months ago we moved from one off projects to providing full time services, the state of these shops was incredible and we did a lot of heavy lifting 'saving' clients business because they used 'non-certified' dev/service providers. Not one of these clients used a certified dev or agency...from PrestaShop Partner Agency listing, one can review and seek services from agencies all over the world. If you're constantly being asked for relatively small changes, there's not really a good way to keep providing and keeping track of little quotes. More info here: http://www.antropy.co.uk/blog/how-hourly-charging-can-be-a-win-win-for-client-and-developer/ how I work around that is a tasklist (using zoho), where client enters misc. work they want done. then either monthly or bi-monthly I look at work performed and bill them, not on hours though that is a factor but more on value added to business. For individual hourly might make sense but for team of 10 employees (not sub-contractors so we have fixed costs)....the amount of admin for such billing...simply did not work for us...
