This is the best module ever for prestashop. It will eliminate so many of premium themes.

However i have two problems.
1) I select the colour but that is not the exact color shown on the menu.
2) I want to use Google Adsense for Search instead of normal search code. Where do i put Google Adsense code for search?

Please be kind to help me out.

Hi there,

thank you for the module.

have a little problem though...

i've managed to add images for the background of each items on my nav but i can't get rid of the text... cf. attached image.

the text stays on top of the image.

it wouldn't normally be a problem (add a span with display:none) but somehow i can;t get it to work within this context.

thank you for your help
lev.

ps: obviously, i want the text to be gone :)

hi, I also would like to know, as a guy mentioned before me, how can one get the text to not show if you want a purely graphic based navigation menu?

So no text must be visible, just the gif images...

Any advice?
Thanks!

The bar which works perfectly (PS 1.3.6) but has three small problems that can not solve.
1) I can not change the color of the bar (always stays yellow)
2) I can not insert “Tags”
3) can not adapt the menu bar to the site (it is narrower than the site)

How can I solve these problems?

First of all, thank you for the module, it´s great!!

I have the same problem and i´m using PS v1.3.6 too. I have changed the width of menu.gif to 980px and i change the superfish-modified.css code:
sf-menu {
 float: left;
 width: 980px; --> Here´s the change
   line-height:    1.2;
   /*background: transparent url(../img/blocktopmenu.gif) repeat-x;*/
}

the menu is larger, but now the problem is that the "ok button" of the search is outside the menu...

anydoby knows how to solve it?

Thank you!

One more question. Which is the last version of this module?
I have the jbx_menu_2_6_4 but i read that there is a v. 2.6.7, isn´t it?
I think this version is great but, it make the web page slowly in the loading process and when i add products to the shopping cart it´s slowly too...

Hi everyone!
Great Module!

In my shop there are two types of categories.
IT, and non-IT.

I want to show the IT categories aligned to left, and a rest aligned to the right.
Instead of CSS hacking, maybe a I could use a separator (an empty menu item, with the length of 120 px for example).
Any ideas how to do this?:)

Thank you Rocky. This worked perfectly to remove the hover background image on menu version 2.7.1 in PS 1.3.7

Try changing the following code on lines 95-98 of modules/jbx_menu/superfish-modified.css:

.sf-menu li:hover, .sf-menu li.sfHover, .sf-menu li.sfHoverForce,
.sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active {
   background: transparent url(../gfx/menu/hover.png) no-repeat -7px;
}

Change it to just background: transparent

1- no autocompletion
2- the search is made only on the products (normal or not)
I have a wrong version of "search.js" for 2.7.1.
Is anyone could give me the right file please?

Thanks!

You can adjust the image of the bar. This can be found in gfx/menu. Change the bar, save it using the same name and upload it to your webserver. I did it this way and it works for me.

Hi everybody...
Great module!!!

I have done something different to integrate the store in the corportative web.
Except the "Tienda Online" (Online Store) button, the rest are external links to the web.
(see the image1, it is modificated by css.)

But the problem comes because can be choosen languages in the store and in the web. You can change the language in the store (image2) but when you click to external link It does not mantain the choosen language (of course).

Question: how can I add parameters to keep the chosen language. I suppouse I have to put an IF and depending on the choosen language go to a diferent link with different language-parameters... But I don´t know where can I add code to implement this posible solution.

Sugestions are welcome.

Sorry for my spaniard-english... 8-/

UPDATED....
Sorry. I´m silly. The new version of the jbx_menu_2_7_1 resolve this issue!!!
I love you Julian Breux!!

aromat22, ¿could you tell me how you had configured this module for obtain the menu of your web?

It's great.

Thank you.

Hope this information will help.
First of all, the menu currently enabled in my shop is not Julien's module but the similar horizontal menu module. I had the Julien's module in place at first (exactly the same design) when my shop was running 1.3.7
The theme I am using is my own version (heavily modified) of Dapurpixel Rumahbatic theme, which comes with top menu module.
When I have upgraded to 1.4.017, Julien's module was not yet been upgraded to 1.4x version, but soon it became available. I have not changed over the menu module on my live store as there are lots of issues other I am dealing with since upgrading to Prestashop 1.4.x. I suspect that upgrading Prestashop files with full existing database from 1.3.7 in place is causing the problems, as I am not able to change or create any CMS pages with SEF URL's enabled.
I am currently working on separate and full version of my site in 1.4.1, which I will upload as a new installation. I will only import orders and customers database tables, and hopefully my issues will be resolved. In this version I have included Julien's menu and it works without problems.
Now back to your question - customising look and feel of this module.
I did everything through style sheets, not through module's admin panel. There are essentially 2 style sheets that need modification:
1. Your theme's global.css where you determine positioning of your top menu navigation (i.e. - hight, width, margin-top, etc.)
2. This module's CSS - which is inside the module's folder. There you can set the menu's background (mine is a single png image with no-repeat), menu items hover background, drop-down backgrounds, etc.

Hope this will help. Cheers.

OK, so I've got it installed and working like I want it to, but for some reason it does not generate the menu on CMS pages or on product detail pages.

I can't find this 'fix' that people have mentioned here and there.

The site is:

any ideas?

Thanks,

Julian, I don't mean to be a douche, but I asked for help with this -WEEKS- ago. You are listed as a "partner" and a "VIP" member of this community and forum.

The code you published is not working properly and you are leaving me hanging.

And I know it can't be working right for other people, and I've seen posts indicating as much, and I'm pretty sure there is a solution to this problem, but I can't find it....

Hi,

I realised that my ps_menu table is empty (even though the backend shows the items I had added through v2.6.4). I deleted those old items but cannot add any new items - I have added several items but ps_menu remains empty. Any ideas?

Since this is the "free" version of this software, is there a "paid" version that actually works? cause I would buy that....<br/><br/>Just need this to -work-

Iam using a modified version of this menu.Try this and see if it works.But this is part of the theme iam using so the style will be different.You can try editing this css later.

I attach the file.You can see the menu in my store in signature below.

Note:My menu has no options to change color or other details like jbx menu, you can only add some links .Jbx menu is far superior as far as options to change color etc.But maybe you can compare the code and make changes to original jbx menu to make it work properly.

For me ,both menus are working fine.

All i need is to make the third list to be displayed horizontal (4 elements per row). Why? Because my menu is so long... and it gets out of the monitor area...

So...

My menu is like this:

Parent A , Parent B, Parent C, Parent D, Parent E, Parent F

...first i want that after the first 3 parents to add a margin... so it will look like this:

Parent A , Parent B, Parent C,-----------------------------Parent D, Parent E, Parent F

...next...

from Parent A the list is as it follows:

My subparent A

My subparent B

My subparent C

My subparent D

...everything is ok at subparent list...

now... from My subparent A.... i want the list to be displayed horizontal (4 elements per row)...like this

My subparent A -> My sub-sub-parent A, My sub-sub-parent B, My sub-sub-parent C, My sub-sub-parent D

My sub-sub-parent E, My sub-sub-parent F

....in other words to display the third parents...on a horizontal line....

How can i do this? i tried display: inline; list-style-type: none....

and even the nth-child for the parent-menu to have a margin after the third element.... :(

...still no luck...

Could please help?

Thanks a lot

Hey Guys!

I just installed Prestashop 1.4 on my website.

I also need some help, I've just uploaded this module to my themes>prestashop>modules folder

One thing I was wondering is that the folder "modules" wasn't there before so I added the folder, am I right by doing so?

Anywho, where the folder is placed there, I cannot see the module under my "modules" in my backoffice.

So there's gotta be some problem ;o

Im new @ this and I would looove some help :)

Thanks in advance! :D

Does anyone knows how to solve this? I can't make my menu to be on top of all my other divs...thanks in advance!

Try to change z-index in css.

Add anywhere in loaded css file (eg in superfish-modified.css) this:

.sf-menu { z-index: 5000 !important; }

if problem still persist, try to increase this number. But i think, that it is very high value.

Hi there,

I just downloaded a .zip file jbreux-jbx_menu-3b508ea.zip from the github and attempted to install the module in the module section / "add modules from my computer". Usually, most modules I install this way appear in the module list and can be searchable. However, Jbx menu module will not show up in the list. I am using prestashop 1.4.1

Do I have to rename the folder to a specific name? If so, what is it? I tried looking through the readme and tpl files but I cannot seem to find what needs to be done to install this properly.

I know there's a new prestashop version available, but we have to save up funds and set aside time before we can pursue further development efforts to catch up with the latest prestashop

Thanks for your help..

Mark

Hi guys!

Please make sure the file you are attempting to upload is renamed 'jbx_menu' and not the long zip file name. Also, make sure you are ONLY uploading the file folder with the module in it. The module will show up in the 'Front Office Features' section.

Hope that helps!

  • 5 weeks later...

I am using the jbx_menu-2.8.2 from git hub & only the jbx_menu folder was uploaded to modules.

The first error upon install was the module was not installed properly??? Huh?

I refresh and it seems to be installed but now I get an (Access denied) to that module when I click on configure.

My prestashop vesion 1.4.5.1

& Im stuck and not sure what to do.

Edit: I got to looking at this thing and realized I have the Top horizontal menu v1.3 by Julien Breux installed as as well. I wonder if there is a conflict between the two menu modules.
