Install 1.6.1.9 - Database to used SQL

I have already another webshop installed. But my hosting is limited only to one SQL-database. So can I install Presta to the same database and Presta doesn't remove or edit existing SQL information? So the existing webshop stays fully functional?

 

My goal is to install Presta to the subfolder and edit it to ready for publishing. Then I remove existing webshop from my server and lift Presta files to the main directory. Is this possible? Does Presta work still?

you can use the same database for multiple stores.  when you install prestashop, one of the options is the database prefix, which by default is ps_

 

so on the second install, just use a different prefix

Instead of adding a separate PrestaShop installation for your new store we suggest you use the Multi-Store feature of PrestaShop.

 

If you use the Multi-Store feature then you can use the existing database and you don't have to create a separate database.

You don't need to use multi-store in order to use a single database, see my previous reply.
