Not able to find Product Comments Module - PrestaShop 1.7

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody,

I want to enable the product review feature in my PrestaShop 1.7 installation but not able to do that as the module (i.e. Product Comments) responsible for this feature is not there in PrestaShop 1.7

Has it being built into PrestaShop? Or there is some additional setting for it?

Please help.

There are none yet, you will have to wait for some one to update their module or for some one to make a new one that supports PS 1.7

Going back to 1.6 is a bit extreme but I agree having no product comment/review module is a bad oversight. It's a very basic feature of all shopping carts, whether free or paid for.

Yes, we are having a look at 1.7, and it is missing some really basic features even the simplest eCommerce should have. I am finding this staggering in 2017.

I would hope from a supposedly leading open source eCommerce, not just to have a basic comment system, but an innovative commenting and review system, pushing the limits of web development and social network integration.

Don't get me wrong, we have build lots of PS stores, and been a fan in the past, but this is worrying going forward.

After successfully installing and configuring, product page is blank when viewed using default theme, so not working in 1.7.

When I installed module, some dir permissions were set to 777, and files to 666 in both module dir and config > xml.

Changing permissions to 755 and 644, respectively, and emptying cache didn't fix issue.

If it helps, I get following error when I view page with bug mode enabled:

ContextErrorException in Link.php line 659:Notice: Array to string conversion
1 in Link.php line 659
2 at ErrorHandler->handleError('8', 'Array to string conversion', 'PATH DELETED/public_html/prestashop/classes/Link.php', '659', array('module' => 'productcomments', 'controller' => array(), 'params' => array('module' => 'productcomments', 'controller' => 'default'), 'ssl' => null, 'idLang' => '1', 'idShop' => null, 'relativeProtocol' => false, 'url' => 'http://prestashop/')) in Link.php line 659

I just updated to 1.7.1.1. After enabling module, product page now appears OK, but no comments in the product tabs (expected) or anywhere on the product page.

I just updated to 1.7.1.1. After enabling module, product page now appears OK, but no comments in the product tabs (expected) or anywhere on the product page.

I put it on the bottom with the displayFooterProduct hook http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2454836/6f7005e12c692d5620bbe22caf664b6f

Try check that hook on theme

I am running 1.7.1.1

Thanks for your reported issue. I will fix it soon

If I do that, I get HTTP ERROR 500, and a blank product page. I may have done something wrong. I unhooked and now module is hooked to following but still doesn't show anything in the product page:

displayProductFooter

displayProductListReviews

displayRightColumnProduct

I am using Prestashop 1.7.1.1 and using a Theme template.

While trying to test the module, I am able to see a pop-up for the comments. But when I click submit nothing happens. Pop up stays on top of product page .What can be the issue?
