Important: For those who can not access to BO after upgrade from 1.6.1.7 to 1.6.1.8

Recommended Posts

Before making update you must check/change the default language to French or English,

All shops that use other languages they no longer have their BO access even with correct logins.

(Tested with RTL languages + Spanish +Romanian for now/ or, probably all unicode languages)

For RTL languages the problem is probably in the file: adminxxxxx/themes/default/css/admin-theme_rtl.css

If you forgot to do a backup before updating: Generally most hosts make an automatic backups (day-1 or day-2...) you can find the choice of restoring backups in your hosting interface and you can go back and re-test and update your shop successfuly.

Solution: As I said earlier: check/change the default language to French or English then update, but you must not return again to your language because you lose access again.

Fix:

Copy the Translations folder from a back-up and replace it via ftp on live site. All will come back to normal, so you won't need to roll back.

Looks that prestashop upgrade process is messing up the language files...

Hello, is my first post in this forum. I use english lang for BO and greek lang for FO.

I can't login to BO after upgrading from 1.6.1.7 to 1.6.1.9 because the login button is just an empty blue button. So I restored my backup back to 1.6.1.7, download all the files from translation/el (greek language) and after upgrade to 1.6.1.9 I re-upload to server the local copy of translation/el files. Now I can login as normal.

BUT the upgrade also messed up greek translation in FO.  In order to solve this problem I uploaded to   themes/default-bootstrap/lang  folder the greek language file I had backed up before upgrade (file from 1.6.1.7).

Now the BO and FO looks as it would be.

Thank you.
