theme from version 1.2.5 to 1.3

Recommended Posts

Yes, PrestaShop v1.2.5 themes work in PrestaShop v1.3, though you are missing out on all the improvements made to the PrestaShop v1.3 theme.

Which improvements? Are they importent?

I am very curious as well Rocky! Are these just cosmetic updates or some behind the scenes things as well?

You can see all the changes in the CHANGELOG. Just look for the FO items. There are many bug fixes and a few enhancements. Also, the CSS now follows the proper code formatting guidelines, with the last item of a block not having a semicolon and blocks with only a single item displayed on a single line.

A message is now displayed on the order history page if a PayPal transaction has been delayed to let the customer know. The submit button on the contact page is now hidden when you click on it to prevent accidentally sending multiple messages. On the product listing page, the availability text has been moved to the right block, so the description has more space and is displayed better across browsers. They added a spanish "On sale" icon and text. Combination references and references of disabled products are now shown. The "(read more)" link on checkout page is now a friendly URL. There are fixes in the the product image block and color picker. The text "(tax incl.)" is now hidden when tax is disabled.

Some unnecessary CSS has been removed and CSS for the new cross-selling module has been added. There are many performance optimisations in the theme too. These are just some examples of the things that have been fixed.

It isn't hard to recreate your theme, unless you've significantly edited it. Just compare your theme to the original PrestaShop v1.2.5 theme and make the same changes to the default PrestaShop v1.3 theme, but following the new CSS code formatting.
