Did you recently update the paypal module? For the sake of everyone understanding, they said that the latest version of PayPal module is causing the problem. Not sure which one is th latest though. I have 3.10.10 installed at the moment, and having huge slowness spikes. Basically, the site is super fast until an item is added to the basket, after that TTFB will increase to 7000-12000ms. Remove all items from cart, back to fast speed. I am updating to 1.6.1.7 and last version of PayPal module, let's see if that fixes the problem.
