Unable to get email order_conf to appear

I have made changes to the text within my order_conf email.  I have saved it and it appears to have been saved as it is still there when I get out and go back into the editor.  However, the changes do not appear on the order_conf email when a customer orders a product from the store.

Did you change the order_conf.txt or the order_conf.html file?

what file you modified exactly? can you show full path to this file please?

I used LOCALIZATION -> TRANSLATIONS -> MODIFY TRANSLATIONS.  Chose email templates, Core, en. Hit Modify.  Selected order_conf.  Made changes in html and saved.

try to select theme instead of core :-)
