Hello everyone.

If anyone have idea why I get HTTP 500 error when trying to call installation file for new version of PrestaShop 1.7

Unzipped and copied all the files to the desired catalog on my server (hosted by GoDaddy) and when try to call installer it comes up as HTTP 500 ...

No clue what could pose the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help and your time !

Best.

S.J

Crear archivo htaccess.txt sin nada y cargarlo al servidor

cambiar el nombre del archivo cuando este en el servidor a .htaccess y listo.

El web del admin ya funciona

That worked. Thanks!!

Here the translation in English:

create file htaccess.txt without content and put it on your server

once there (in your admin folder) change its name to .htaccess and it's done

admin is now accessible and working

Hi,

Thanks. Have not installed any new files or updates.

I had a IT person who had set up the website for me but he is no longer available.

I have no IT knowledge or skills.

My website still working but i am not able to access my admin page.

Is there a way to check with presta or get access?

Will need step by step guide.

What exactly is the error?

Do you see the login page? How are you trying to access?

In the address bar, you will see https://yourwebsite.com/randomletters/index.php/lots of stuff. remove everything after index.php and try again.
