domain name straight to front page.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have downloaded the prestashop_1.6.1.6 and followed the installation video.

I unzipped it and noticed that the files were already in a subfolder "_"

After several attempts, I successfully installed prestashop on the server.

Now in order to access the front page I have to go to "www.mydomain.com/_" or "www.mydomain.com/_/" or "www.mydomain.com/_/index.php".

If I type just "www.mydomain.com" I get a Index Of page where i need to click the underscore to take me to my front page.

I have tried moving the files to the root folder, but then the site won't work at all.

Is there any way to make it so that when accessing "www.mydomain.com" will actually take me to my front page?

Thank you.

if you installed prestashop into a folder called "prestashop", then you would need to access the store using

www.mydomain.com/prestashop

if you do not want that, then you would have to properly extract the software to the document root folder, and then you can access the store using

www.mydomain.com

alternatively, you could create a rewrite rule, so that if visitors access your domain, they would get redirected automatically to your store in the subfolder.

I tried moving the store in the root folder, but then the store won't function at all. Neither the front page nor the backoffice. So, applying the solution from the previous post made the store functional. Now I only need to mask the subfolder from the URL
